This absolutely killed me. Thank you for the much-needed uncontrollable cackle, fren, you have a fantastic way with words.

edit: @GenociderSyo is apparently the comedian, no idea how I missed it during the birth madness but all medals and Edinburgh Comedy Awards to you instead!

Poor sod is 29 years old
Iirc this poor sod has hydrocephalus, and as was already mentioned likely much more of a functioning brain left than Luna. Luna only really survives because the cyctic matter that takes up most of her skull hasn't yet affected her brainstem and stopped basic functions like breathing.

There is a case discussed very early in the thread of a man who lived 35 years with MCE, but I believe his condition was less catastrophic than hers. If God exists and loves us, Luna will not cling on another 30 years.

Blobyn is implying all those MLM vitamins cured Luna's broken femur in record time. Obviously, this isn't true.
A) Are they old pics being sold as new? B) Did Robyn just callously remove the splint to shill MLM vitamins?
C) Oh my, the face crust has spread and is resisting the blur tool!

LUNAS LEG IS BROKEN. HOW DOES AN IMMOBILE CHILD BREAK HER LEG?! The ankle looks fucked too.

Today is September 13th.

That is not nearly enough time for a break to heal, especially when her bones are made of chalk. Shit's about to get bleak.

I don't think "bleak" is the right word. I think Luna's responses continue to dampen as her brain shuts down. Robyn probably misreads this as "chilling." It would be nice if she had a chill death, free of Cheney Stokes respiration a that scare the boys.

Not sure about pediatric hospice, but in the case of elderly hospice patients, we don’t treat breaks with the goal to heal. We would immobilize or brace a broken limb for comfort, and then treat aggressively with pain killers. It seems like Robyn has waffled around on if Luna “needs” pain killers. I’m hopingggg ( :optimistic:) that Robyn’s hospice team has built up trust with her and she’s being more compliant with their care. Even if she’s not ready to say or type it out, I hope she’s processing reality. That’s a big part of why hospice offers benefits like the chaplain Robyn mentioned: a major focus is building trust with the families with non denominational chaplains, music therapists, grief counselors, etc. On that note (and if globlyn are listening in), I hope they ask about children’s grief services for Atlas. They’re experts in supporting children of all developmental stages, and work with the families even after the patient has passed.

It’s evident Robyn didn’t bathe Luna while she was in the splint.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this, but in the last picture Luna's legs look wrong. It looks like possible muscle atrophy, especially near her ankles. This could indicate several things, such as neglect considering her medical conditions and/or it means she's not learning how to move her legs or using them in any sort of way. (Edited to add that I meant this as in her mother is likely not doing the exercises/muscle stretches that are typically done to prevent blood clots in paralyzed/bed bound people, could be misremembering but I think they're at nursing homes for example).
Not to mention, her legs do not look healthy for her age regardless, even in body fat. To me at least, it indicates that there's a lot of underlying issues that are not being adequately addressed and I feel horrible that Luna has been undergoing this for so long. Even if she's practically a potato, her brain will, likely, still be receiving pain signals, so I can only imagine the amount of agony she's in especially after her broken femur. I can only hope there's some sort of nerve damage that would keep her from feeling it :(

I mean, have you read the thread? Luna has no capability to learn, or even move outside of seizure activity.
Edited my initial post to clarify, sorry. What I was saying is while that much is clear, I am concerned that her mother might not be doing the proper leg stretches/whatever nurses do for paralyzed or bed bound patients to prevent blood clots since they're common in certain disabilities. From what I understand muscles have to be properly stretched, including those in someone's joints. With how weak Luna's ankles look especially, I find it alarming with how small they are for her age, especially considering the state her bones might be in.
Either way, I just genuinely hope she has some sort of nerve damage to keep her from being in agony from her broken femur. I feel horrible knowing that she is suffering like this.

Again, have you read the thread? Luna has no brain and most likely can't process the feeling of pain.

Leg stretches won't make any difference, neither does all the PT that she gets for no reason. A blood clot would be a blessing at this point. Your moral fagging is misplaced.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this,
This thread has 783 pages of people noticing every modicum of strangeness about this family.
Issues that have been discussed ad nauseum include:
  • Lunas inability to feel pain. Consensus is that there is not enough brain material to process pain signals.
  • the pointless or point to any physical therapy (which up until recently she did get and made up the bulk of Robyns updates about her child. Seemingly these sessions may have stopped because they have become untenable due to deterioration of spud freshness.)
  • The extent to which Globyn parent or neglect their children
Your time here will be easier if you do some pretty serious lurking before commenting on threads. It's a long thread, so maybe tab through using the Highlight feature to get the gist or just be satisfied with reading along quietly and get familiar with the vibe of the thread conversations. People on the board generally don't like to be asked if they have noticed something that has been dissected and discussed on pretty much every page just because a newb wants to start having their opinions heard immediately.

Robyn's photos from her pregnancy with Luna make me so sad and angry. It's hard not to imagine a healthy little Luna in there, just growing all normal and shit. To know that Robyn's selfishness would eventually destroy her chance at a normal life (or any life at all, really) is just heartbreaking. It's so gross that she can share these photos and not feel the same remorse.

Serious question about Luna no long wearing that cast from the Ortho docs:
With your experience in hospice, could they have opted for a brace/immobilizer with Velco to make care easier for her caregivers? I only briefly worked in hospice a very long time ago and only remember seeing splinted limbs like the pink one the Ortho docs applied.
This family is horrifying on so many levels. I can just imagine Robyn's delusional thinking that Luna telepathically told her that her leg was healed and that she didn't want to see the Ortho docs again because they had bad energy. Robyn then cavalierly removes the splint. Gymbro is like: Robyn, the kids are your concern I'm going to go work out. Atlas screeches with joy as he stuffs another toy down the toilet. Quercus coos softly in the background.
All I can think of is that maybe a hemorrhage or a fat embolism will quickly give Luna the escape she needs from her sad life and nightmare parents.

I appreciate your concern, but Luna is dead, and as my grandpa used to say, "It's all over, but for the shouting." As others have told you, she lacks the brain tissue to feel pain. Leg stretches would be wasted and taking unnecessary time from the boys. They need the time and attention from their parents. She's not in agony. Her bones broke because her brain is so out of order it doesn't even tell her bones to grow the right way. This is just a thing that happens sometimes with children with extremely limited brain function, and this part of the journey really is no one's fault.
