I’ve always said that going all in on threatening to deport immigrants is a bad idea - the majority of immigrants, especially middle-aged and older, actually lean conservative. These are gettable voters for the GOP. However, with Trump implying that all nonwhite immigrants are gang members and rapists, the GOP is missing a ton of pickup opportunities and a chance to create a party that has a chance at future growth. Trump was in Miami praising Venezuelans last year and saying that he didn’t even care if they were illegal as long as they voted for him, but now they’re all terrorists because a few of them raped white women and girls. What is going to happen when, inevitably, all those Venezuelans nationalize and have children born on American soil? Trump keeps returning to this mass deportation fantasy that is never going to happen.
The amount of seething and denial about this from his rumpswabbers is truly impressive. Donnie T, who has been known to openly embrace the fact that he dates the most plastic bimbo models and hookers for decades, suddenly has drawn the line with Laura Loomer who just so happens to be touchy-feely with him to an extent far beyond a platonic or a professional level.
