Just a small update on my end. As mentioned I'm currently in a blue area of a blue state. Since I'll be here for a while I decided to go to the town's farmer's market to see what stuff was available.

One thing I found interesting was a booth among the food vendors and handmade crafts with a huge MAHA banner - Make America Healthy Again.
There was a life-size RFK Jr cutout next to it. Another sign said "A vote for Trump is a vote for RFK Jr".

When I saw it my first thought was honestly "Do you know where you are?!" Anything Trump or Trump adjacent in this area is unthinkable.

But I went up to go speak to them for a moment. I asked if they had had any good responses from the locals and they said that the people in the area are very health focused and they'd had a lot of great conversations and people have been friendly. They also shared they'd had a booth there every week since RFK Jr's endorsement of Trump, with no issues from local people at all.

When I got closer to the booth I also saw there were a lot of people who had signed up for the "volunteer" clipboard or another one to get more information on MAHA and the metabolic health epidemic.

I feel like I'm in a bizarro world.

The cat thing seems to have resonated. My coworkers are all black or Mexican and they seem legit upset and angry about it, especially the blacks. American blacks might overtake Dominicans in terms of hatred of Haitians if my coworker is anything to go by. He seemed particularly offended by people saying it was racist because he knows Haitians ain't normal black people. Mexicans seem upset too and even the illegals seem to be supportive of Trump. We got a new portapotty and of course it started getting graffiti. One of the tags was "fuck Trump" and quite a few "que te jodan"s were written with an arrow pointed at it.

Yes this, ALL of the third parties all run on idea that are very dangerous to the big 2 parties.

Someone earlier in the thread asked about third party candidates being allowed to participate in the debates. Since neither big party wants a mutual opponent/threat having equal screen time with them, those facilitating the debates move the goalposts in a sense by making up requirements the third parties don't and can't meet such as polling at 5% or better in x number of polls or something similar to justify excluding them.

See that Shell gas station next door? The gas sold there came from a hub in f'ing Wisconsin.

It was explained to me that it's because every state has different blend requirements for fuel sold in their states and the refinery was producing a more profitable (to Shell) blend than Louisiana requires. It was more profitable for the gas station to buy the cheaper blend and have it shipped 2k miles.

This sounds similar to what I've heard. I've also heard that refineries in one area tend to supply a different area. As a hypothetical example, a Midwest refinery may supply the south and vice versa. This explains the scenario @SaidNoOneEver described.

Ironically enough gas prices increase almost instantly in area around a refinery that sees capacity reduction for any reason even if that refinery doesn't even supply those stations. Go figure.

The effort to tie Trump to Laura Loomer seems like the latest effort to make him look bad after their constant harping on Project 2025 didn't have as much of the desired affect. This political cycle has been crazier than the usual clown world that Election Day can't come soon enough.
