U.S. Secret Service agents opened fire after seeing a person with a firearm near former President Donald Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while he was golfing Sunday, according to two law enforcement officials. The Republican presidential candidate is safe.

The person fled in an SUV and was later apprehended in a nearby county by local law enforcement, the officials said.

An AK-style firearm was recovered at the scene near Trump’s golf course, one of the officials and a third law enforcement official said.

The person appeared to push the muzzle of the rifle through the fence line and that’s when agents fired, the officials said

More information to come as the situation unfolds of course, but it doesn't seem like the gunman fired shots but was instead noticed beforehand then fled after getting shot at by the feds. I'm not familiar with his golf course but is the fence line open or are there trees and shrubbery nearby? Besides the stupid idea of attempting to assassinate a former president, especially after another recent attempt, it seems even more stupid to attempt it in the wide open during the day.

Its true that most maga conflates this with whatever social programs they don't like but most Americans are not maga and i would say still understand what communism in its most simple understanding. I'm not sure if this means anything, but watching college football all day yesterday, I didn't see a single Trump commercial.

I don't watch TV other than sports and since i'm in a purple state that could go either way, I was expecting it to be nonstop Harris and Trump commercials.

There were plenty of Harris commericals...and for some reason, Fox Sports commercials advertising that Tom Brady is still doing announcing despite his terrible first performance, but not a single Trump commercial.
