"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

The FBI paid a visit to Jeremy Kauffman (a), the founder of LBRY and Odysee. The agent says he wants to talk "about a post that was made and if you happen to be the one that made it." Techbro proceedes to slap them in the face with his dick until the traitors slink away. Highly recommended.
edit: This may be the tweet that elicited the visit.

edit2: Or it really could have been anything he's said. I'm looking through his tweets and replies and he's recently got posts banned from the EU regarding Haitians. Definitely something worth digging into, I just don't have the focus to read up on it atm.

Again it’s like coffee or pipe smoking. Vinyl is about the sound, sure, but you can replicate that sound perfectly pops and all (though no play of an old record sounds exactly the same each time; it might skip in the same place but never exactly the same way - my favorite song as a wee lad had an entire verse I never knew about until I got the song on cassette!).

The thing about vinyl is ritual. You have to open the player, unlock the head, place the record down, position the head, and hit the go button. These are all ritualistic steps that greatly enhance what you’re doing in a way that hitting play on a phone will never meet.

Even waking up to the record needle bouncing off the end repeatedly is a sound and experience you can’t really replicate in any other way.

Goddamn that video was beautiful, you could see them shrink as he effortlessly outclassed them.
Odysneed sisters keep winning.

Josh you might find this mildly interesting...Google released a new tool that generates shitty NPR-style podcasts about any topic you feed it, whether that's web pages, forum threads, pdfs etc. It's kind of fun to play with.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised by AI's capabilities at this point, but it's still wild to me to hear AIs earnestly discussing Rekieta's downfall at length.

Skip to 7:35 of this to hear them talk about the Mandy incident:

I have fed it Josh's article Online Censorship's Institutional Power.

The provided text is an essay by Joshua Moon, the owner of the website Kiwi Farms, detailing his claims that Liz Fong-Jones, a transgender multi-millionaire, is waging a campaign to deplatform the Kiwi Farms. Moon accuses Fong-Jones of using his influence and wealth to manipulate Wikipedia and media outlets to portray the Kiwi Farms as a harmful website and silence its critics. He further argues that this strategy is being adopted by other powerful individuals and organizations to control online discourse and suppress dissent. Moon's essay acts as a warning against this trend of online censorship and a call for action to protect free speech and internet neutrality.

It's really crazy how well it understands what I'm saying and makes it more concise than I wrote it

The male voice is definitely based off that radio guy in the US who's syndicated nationally and all he does is read pop culture articles about medicine.

All the chirps are gone this is a fucking disaster
Come to think on it, is it possible that the platform has built in nigger shielding that filters out certain noises that have the tendency to embarrass them? Just the notion of that even being a modern possibility is fucking hilarious. Would anyone honestly be shocked it that turned out to be the case?

my podcast audio post processing ai thing definitely removes chirps and eating sounds.

I can see the scene in my mind, because I've lived it - some middle manager arguing with his programmers:

Middle manager: Why would anyone EVER want to not remove this noise floor? I can't see why you want to make it an option!

Tech dude: I don't really know, but when you have a new feature, you need to make it at least disable-able so it can keep doing what the customer has always done.

Middle mangler: Seriously, it just removes eating noises and chirps! Nobody wants that!

Marketing dweeb: Er, I shouldn't know this, but eating noises are a desirable market segment for some ...

Middleman: Ah, fuck it, sure leave it as an option, but make it default on.

I imagine a conversation of convincing someone of it's necessity being centered around protecting the negroes from those hekkin' rayciss huwite men. We can't have people thinking that a subspecies is so retarded and inept that they can't manage a smoke alarm, so help those inept retards out by filtering it out for them since they clearly can't do it for themselves.

they don't make something more sanitary ends like foodsafe silicon? that's clearly just a floor mop from walmart, I can't imagine you can clean it properly.
It looks retarded but its not the worst thing. Boiling water will disinfect pretty perfectly and most kitchens will have a high pressure wand in the dish pit that will basically power wash it and knock out any food particles that might get stuck in the fibers. The retarded thing is when they don't cut the handle and leave a huge ass stick attached. Make it obvious that it is a designated kitchen utensil, because eventually someone will think its just a regular mop and just use it to clean the floors, lmao.

With a mortar launcher.

Since next week is "Banned Books" week, I'd like to show y'all how bookstores have been handling it all.
Tl;dr:
IMG_20240917_104540.jpg

Even though it's just a week, banned books has basically taken over September if you go anywhere with printed media.

Spearheaded by folks like this:

Who have no problem giving actual 5 year olds this:

I remember Josh saying "If you replace the word 'Love', when people say Love is Love, with 'Cum', it all makes much more sense" and he's right.

It's actually alarming how many of these books are aimed at either actual children or tweenagers aged 12-16.

They'll tell you anything is banned if it means you'll fight their battles for them. One uppity school teacher in Utah somewhere, not having a book in their classroom isn't "banning books".

I see your banned books and raise you an actual banned/controversial/crazy person bookshelf

Laser turntables have actually been tried, issue is actually that they pick up too much info. When the needle is being dragged through the groove it's also moving dust out of the way but that doesn't happen with a laser.
I've heard they've gotten better but have no real personal experience. Still even years ago I knew a vinylfag who got pretty good results out of them but he was also an obsessive collector who didn't allow so much as a speck of dust, stored his stuff in almost clean room conditions, and would only take an album out to play it once to transfer it to another storage medium.

I don't think the vast majority of hipsters are that obsessive or have the amount of money that takes.
