I can guarantee that Nick is already “oh, that guy” for the local police given how many traffic tickets he has. I live in a similarly rural area with about the same population as Spicer, and the cops here get familiar with cars they pull over frequently and houses they keep getting called to pretty quick.

On the criminal side, thr search warrant was for drugs. NOT for child abuse. They were after drugs.

The CPS letter was from BEFORE drugs were actually found. Not enough child abuse or neglect to act, in a CPS manner, at the time of the letter.

BUT - then cops go in, and find DRUGS on their DRUG search warrant.
Then the actual existence of drugs is reported to CPS.

Old CPS info in letter, plus New fact of Drugs actually found at residence, changes the CPS decision.

This is entirely correct. Nick treats normal people like judges and lawyers who are supposed to be able to entertain multiple contradictory defences and put up with lies and gamesmanship, but remain neutral.

I am really hoping Detective Pomplun has kept himself informed.
