Zoomers Can't Read

When I was a kid, I didn't know how to read. Up until about age 5, I felt so limited that I couldn't read things in Lego games. Then I learned to read, and I felt like Booker T. Washington learning how to read. I felt liberated, not needing my older family members to read for me, but now Zoomers have the same issue, except they don't learn to read; they just watch TikToks. I fear Gen Alpha, and some Zoomers will never even know how to read.

Gen Z are the niggercattle generation, the result of decades of social engineering. You should stop assuming that most of them are even human, they're starting to resemble another species entirely.
Gen A is either going to be the most pathetic generation or the most based one, depending if they will break their conditioning or succumb to it.

While watching this Vtuber laugh at dumb people, I can't help but notice the amount of melenation these people have, which was not the case with earlier gotcha videos. It used to be when they made these kinds of videos, we'd see a lot of dumb White people. Sure, there are White people in the video, but not as many.

Also, the interviewer saying "yes" to end the conversation. He's clearly doing it to avoid chimp-outs. I might be misremembering, but these videos would show the guest the real answer and they'd have a laugh afterwards. That he's not doing it is a bad sign towards Idiocracy. At which point, we'd better hope Russia and China rule the world if we want floating cities and shit.

With things like NotebookLM I'm worried it's going to get even worse for zoomers/alphas. Who needs to do the reading when a LLM will just spit out cliffnotes for you?

In a more immediate sense, it's depressing to me that my nephews in their early teens don't seem to engage with anything that requires reading at all. No comics, no novels, no JRPGs, regardless how you dress up the content they don't have interest if there's more than a couple words. They're also absolutely terrible at math but that's a completely different rant.

Zoomzoom here. I was a pretty good reader (knew how to spell through sign language at 2, from 7-10 read a new YA novel every 2-3 days until I thought myself a highbrow thinking man for taking interest in classic literature and primary sources, was writing papers citing journal articles at 11) up until the age of 12, when my reading became sporadic at best thanks to my unrealistic expectations for reading (reading classics at the speed I read YA novels at, which isn't possible unless you're a grad student in humanities), puberty, and discovering the internet, which utterly fried my attention span. It picked up a little during the pandemic when I read CS Lewis's Space Trilogy, all of LOTR, and surprisingly liked the Tempest after having to read it for a class. Now that I'm into anime, I'm interested in reading comics, manga, fanfic, and sci-fi literature, but I still spend a bit more time online than I'd like. This whole "hurr durr Zoomers can't read" stereotype is false. Zoomers read all sorts of things, but mostly comics/manga and things related to their fandoms. If this wasn't the case, there wouldn't be massive fandoms around random webcomics like Homestuck and Sparklecare Hospital. Even the most mindless NPC drone Zoomer male reads comics and manga.

I have a 10 year old relative that genuinely can't read. I even got him Captain Underpants books in hopes of encouraging him to read. It didn't work. I'm scared.
It will be okay, fren; three of the last four Presidents couldn't read. The only one that could was a pussy. He will be just fine, and he has my vote in 30 years or so if I'm still around and am still allowed to legally cast a ballot.

Don't quote me on this, but kids aren't being taught phonics anymore. They're taught sight words instead. Reading itself is being driven by rote memorization, for the tests, just like everything else now. These are obviously Alphas, but with Zoomers in school being passed along it's only going to get worse.

I'm actually surprised how awful boomers are went it comes to literacy. People who I've had to deal with online who have had to provide anything written do retarded shit like use commas as full stops. Don't use capital letters at the start of sentences and use random ellipsis without knowing the context of using them. Fucking baffling. I always thought I was dumb but I'm shocked when I constantly see people from the Baby Boomer or Gen X generation who always wag their finger about the damn kids and their screens these days while also failing to put together coherent sentence together.

I had some really patchy writing and grammar skills when I was younger. But I found being on forums and having people constantly call me an illiterate faggot actually helped me get to shit together better than any school teacher did.

I dunno, I've got Boomer and Gen-X coworkers who seem to have such a tenuous grasp of written language that their emails are an incoherent stream of consciousness with zero concern for formatting and childlike phonetic spellings of common words.

Maybe people have just always been retarded.
Could be a consequence of writing on a phone instead of typing properly. Every time I use my phone to type something, it's a pain both with aggressive auto-correct and small area to hit keys.
Gen A is going to be 60-80% brown by the looks of things
Back when I volunteered with Reading Partners, the worst performing students that I knew weren't going to get to grade level (such as that is) were Black children. Everything that can go wrong in early child development was happening to them. The result is what we see in that video I posted; people that not only know nothing, but can't be taught anymore.

Overall, I found the experience to be making beds when the house is on fire. Good for virtue-signaling purposes, I guess, but bad for actually solving the problem.

Black children

I'm turning 25 in October; I am a Zoomer by definition (born 1999). I read the KJV Bible for an hour and a half every day, plus reading other books for at least an hour a day. I have never had a TikTok account. I suppose I am a minority among Zoomers.
Early zoomers (pre-2000) and late zoomers (2000s) are radically different sorts of people with few things in common. Especially outside of America where early Internet access wasn't as common and early zoomers still grew up offline. Most people hear "Gen Z" and just think "broccoli haired tiktok fiend" when that doesn't resemble the former group at all.

Most zoomies statistically were born before the tablet age, but skibidies (aka: "alphas", yeah right...) are already so burned by this shit I seen a few that are non-verbal, I'm dead serious, they can't even have a basic conversation.

I remember hearing the same about zoomers, aka "gen zyklon" 10 years ago.

They're now officially the gayest generation ever, gayer than classical greece.

The problem with this format-which is not new at all as this street questions shit was already old when I was a little kid-is that they never do it live because then there would be a few that aren't dumb and get it right thus ruining the premise. And even if they did it live the fact is they always go after the dumbest looking people around, go ask the nerds at the comic/manga store and see if they are this dumb too.

You're def not fried if you can actually read any of that.

Yeah that's not as good as you think it is...

I thought it was mostly millennials who got into homostuck.
