Finished reading "Hags: The Demonisation of Middle Aged Women" by Victoria Smith and her ability to point out the Moid Problem is pretty impressive. The entire book is about how middle aged women have always been regarded as hags, witches, and that men have largely discouraged younger women from listening to middle aged women who are too old and experienced to fall for most patriarchal standards and general moidery. She also points out that TERFs being dismissed as evil cunts who kill a gorillion troons a day doesn't make sense when they're also apparently powerless bored moms and wine aunts, and also says that the majority of leftist moids use Karens and target white women because it gives them a "get out of misogyny free" card by clarifying that they're making fun of HUWITE women.
Unrelated but between Dave Grohl being revealed as a cheating whore (again) and Harvey Weinstein being a creep, I hope more people realize that maybe Courtney Love wasn't a conniving lying bitch that deserved 110% of the blame for Kurt Cobain using a double-barrel microphone.

The frustration isn't, I think, whether a female musician is a diva or a drama queen, it's the fact that male musicians don't get tagged with the same.

Male musicians get their music analysed, female musicians get their behaviour analysed.

And when male musicians do have sufficiently egregious behaviour for it to be undeniable, it's always discussed in the context of their hardships, implying that those hardships made them that way. Mum died young, father walked out on the family, the pressures of fame, and so on.
When the behaviour of female musicians get critiqued (and they ALL do), it's a label that follows her around everywhere. And there's never an explanation for it. She never gets the grace of a tough childhood or shoddy parenting or whatever. Its simply who she is, and we must understand that she's a bad person for it.

Male musicians are notoriously cruel to women (name one who isn't), self-absorbed and thoughtless. Yet none of them get tagged with a label anywhere near to what they've done.

The only exception is once they've died. Men get afforded a dignity in life that women never get, and men are only held accountable for their behaviour in death, once they are no longer taxed with the responsibility for correcting it.
