I used to have an issue of The Maxx, I think it got destroyed in the flood, I'm more familiar with the TV show which I was fond of. Yes, Zack would hate it, he'd probably come up with a rewrite where The Maxx was an ex-soldier granted his powers by aliens to fight in their war for them.

I've seen some reviews of The Maxx on YouTube. It falls into two kind of review tracks. Going into the story, explaining the premise/characters/themes and then surface level reviews, "I don't like it, its weird." In fairness, The Fandom Grift would hate the Maxx as well. Trauma, mental health, spirit animals, mention of feminism? The lead female, Julie, by god, she doesn't have a 10 out of 10 body, some belly fat. They'd lose their shit.
Maxx's biggest fault, it was a comic too good for a style over substance (at the time) Image comics. To get its critical due, it needed another publishing logo. It was along side laughable comics like Youngblood, snoozers like Cyberforce, etc.
I seem to recall people saying Zack would lean into Spawn's military background if he had control of the IP, some time ago in this thread, hell, that might of made the book better than Todd using him as a stand-in to tell us how much he loved his wife, Wanda, over and over and over again. You shouldn't do the same beat more than 3 times without moving on. People get bored, Todd, you fucking hack.
There's alot of IP that simply came out before grifting on YouTube, oh excuse me, "fighting the culture war" one super chat at a time became a thing. Great content that is beloved and no one has problems with. No one cared that Kim Possible was a kids program for girls or that she the type A personality, Ron the type B. If it was made today, these idiots would rip it apart. Oh they wouldn't you claim, yet they made zillions on Snow White, so yes, they would.
Plenty of things just had the good fortune to come out before The Last Jedi, the starting point for all this shit.

Has this movement done literally anything for my hobby, or are these retards also just ruining comics more.
Atleast eric July put out comics, subpar, good, bad, doesn't matter what you think of the quality, he atleast listens to his fans, and releases stuff on time.

At least part of that is because such things weren't as ubiquitous at the time with all studios in every entertainment industry falling in line, getting rid of certain kinds of characters and stories, and always on message. It was more tolerable when it was just occasional. You might even go "huh, that's interesting and something to think about I guess." But when it's this pervasive and it's all there is and there's very little effort in the mainstream to balance its output to something that resembles the actual cross section of society and its sensibilities, you just get sick of it and you hate it all.

It was already crap, they just are on social media now in your face. I remember looking at Alex Ross's follow up to Kingdom Come, Uncle Sam (US) when it was new and thinking I don't really want this political shit. I had really been into Kingdom Come and knew the DC Uncle Sam character from old comics I had like Crisis on Infinite Earths but this was really libtarded shit like oh the USA is so bad with injustices kind of stuff that is more common now. If you still like comics do more research and be picky about what new stuff you get into so you are disappointed before you buy it instead of after. Or become an archivist of stuff from when you liked it. You could try to make your own thing too, but then YOU are ruining comics.

Pretty sure if you're going to go down this road (which I don't really recommend) at a minimum you name names and bring receipts. Zach ver. 2024 is apparently too much of a pussy to even do that much.
