Hell, I wonder if he even has an idea of what the words "humor", "parody" and "satire" mean. Because it feels like whatever he puts in are clearly something not to be taken seriously, yet he wants us (the audience and detractors) to take it seriously.

And that's what bugs me. Between the fetishes and over-the-top stupidity, you'd think he wouldn't be taking this thing seriously (the plot in and of itself is testament to it). But no, a serial killing anime trope personified is serious business.

It's like it's too over the top, and not over the top at the same time. Like it has no idea what it wants to be. And Eva knows it, yet tries to deny it at every turn. And his fans are gullible enough to eat it up. It's funny, yet downright pathetic at the same time.
