Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

More salt from psuedo-rebels. This one is called Erin Shrode, and she may have potential one day to be a stand alone lolcow. She has a large digital footprint(public facebook, twitter, linkedin, and Youtube channel), a larger ego, and incredibly thin skin. She went on Fox News to explain why Trump being called Time's "Person of the Year" draws to parallels to Hitler's naming by the magazine in 1934(?) and how the environment will suffer terribly due to this as well:

Now I am no fan of Tucker Carlson, who clearly only goes after low hanging fruit, or Faux(TM) news, but he initially was trying to go easy on her and couldn't stop herself from looking like a fool.
I'm unfamiliar with Tucker Carlson but that permanent "I can't fucking believe what I'm hearing" look on his face made me laugh.

Yep. Listening to or reading things by Erin Shrode will do that. If you want a similar just look for her Twitter page. She and her followers are a something else. This is coming from somebody who considers themselves on the left, btw.

"To me, and this is not an overstatement, the unproven assertion that Russia affected the US election is the political equivalent of over three thousand men and women burning to death in jet fuel."

Sorry for the :powerlevel:

All these idiots saying Trump winning is worse than 9/11, equating his winning with 9/11 or they can't wait for the next 9/11 to happen so it teaches orange man a lesson.
Really need to go listen to Kevin Cosgrove's 911 call (I don't recommend doing so as you can literally hear Two-World Trade Center start to collapse with him trapped inside).

This is Michael Morell. He worked with the Bush administration during the 9/11 attack.

/r/politics continues their descent into absolute delusion.

We still have a chance to undo the mistakes and prevent ourselves from fucking up further, but yeah, the most dangerous mistake the foreign policy planners made was complacency and self assuredness on intelligence and accurate perceptions on the ground. That has gotten us into trouble over and over-they didn't pay close enough attention to al qaeda before 9/11, they didn't think before going into Iraq, and this applies even domestically too-Hillary didn't see her weakness in the rust belt until it was too late.

Very much so.

has r/politics always been this bad

Pretty much. Reddit is a liberal hole aside from The_Donald, even their r/brexit board is run by europhiles.

These people commenting will do fuck all and just rant and scream some more at their screens. Which is fine, it's amusing.

Reddit users' political orientation heavily depends on the issue and their nationality.
Most Europeans are very pro-EU, very liberal (in European sense of the word - they are very anti-communist), fanatically support European federalism and furiously hate Russia. The majority of anti-EU right-wing immigrant haters was driven off the site altogether by Reddit admins. /r/europe was very assblasted by both Brexit and Trump.

/r/worldnews is very schizo. On the one hand, they hate Russia and Putin, on the other hand they tend to like Russian military operations in Syria. Furthermore, they both support and oppose American actions depending on the time of day, the topic and the article's spin. Local denizens are really paranoid about "putinbots" trying to hijack their comment sections. Their favourite pastime is mass brigading /r/russia and then REEEEEEEEEing about being banned from /r/russia. Now they all hate Trump, the last time I checked.

In subreddits and threads regarding Syria, like /r/syriancivilwar, Assad supporters predominate, although back in the day, rebel supporters were in the majority.

For years, liberals and progressives have been raging against federal government being in the pocket of the military-industrial complex. The poster-child of that corruption was the F-35 fighter project, which is a hundreds of billions of USD over budget and years behind schedule that will deliver an aircraft inferior to the inventory the US already has. But now that Trump is saying he'll be cutting it down, people are up in arms about Lockheed-Martin's falling stocks and the possibility that Israel might not be getting as much deliveries of the aircraft. This from people who probably were against US supplying arms to Israel before the election.

These are different times, we need the F-35 to fight against Russian haxors.

Good move. The F-35 is by all accounts a terrible plane that tries to do everything and is mediocre at all of them, as well as costs way too much.

Unfortunately we in Britain bought it in 2015 so we're stuck with it. Whatever happened to the prospects of carrier-capable Typhoons?

We Italians bought it too (we also manufacture it since last year).
I don't know about the Lightning II, but the older F-35 isn't that good an investment.

It caused quite a controversy in here because:
A) it is outdated
B) we Europeans should go back to the drawing board instead of buying overpriced flying cans.

The point of the Typhoon was to be a stand off aircraft to shoot down Russian ones, it was a pure dog fighter.

When it finally came into front line service the first thing that had to be done was convert a lot of them to actually carry the shit we needed as multi-role fighters... and this cost a ton of money, to the point we in the UK are mostly using ageing Tornados to turn ISIS into paste instead of the Typhoons because the upgrade system was utter crap.

Important areas we're defending such as the Baltic Air Policing, the Middle East and the Falklands are all using Tornados which were introduced back in 1979 because, again, the Typhoon is garbage when it comes to needing a work horse multirole aircraft.

As others have noted, the F-35 is designed to be a workhorse airframe right off of the bat for multiple countries. As annoying as people keep saying it is... it isn't. The RAF, for example, intends to replace all regularly deployed combat aircraft (Tornados and Typhoons) with F-35's and has "dibs" on some of the first tranche to be fast tracked. The Royal Navy intends to have nothing but F-35Bs on the carriers.

The point of the F-35 is to change what "type" it is purely by what you load on it, which is cheaper and easier to do long term for the logistical and spare parts side of things. Stremlining how long it takes for you to re-arm a fighter will be of great relief to logistics crews who frequently battle spare parts shortages even now.

But to kind of drag us more on topic, the Trump Tweet which effected LM's stock price is a good thing and should sharpen their focus which has obviously meandered as the project was delayed several times. I can see future arms contracts being vastly different with agreements built in that the longer something runs over, the less the government ends up paying. It's honestly only the Arms Industry which seems to work backwards when it comes to this sort of thing. Anything else gets delayed they tend to discount things.

It's surreal to think that these people are so far up their own ass they'll believe anyone that says Trump won illegitimately.

How long will this "muh Russian hackz!!" story go on, I wonder?

Al Gore was still riding the 2000 Election fallout when he was campaigning for Hillary in Florida (if that answers your question).
