This is related to how a new school of
black metal fans think it's great when the bands have anti-Christian songs/imagery but it's just not heckin' cool when they have anti-Islam or anti-Judaism songs/imagery. Anti-Christian stuff isn't extreme or even relevant anymore, which some of these soft fans agree on, but they get upset when it's said that being anti-Islam or anti-Judaism is far more relevant and extreme, especially in places like Europe where black metal was born in the first place.
They want a thin veneer of seeming iconoclastic but without actually being so at all, just like Karl.
