They would see boys/girls who felt unhappy with the parts of their body relating to their sex, give them puberty blockers and change their registered sex, and then voila! They were not upset about the parts of their body relating to their new sex (since they didn’t have them). These were considered the gold standard of youth gender dysphoria research.
