Recently I've been on a kick of going back and looking up old creators from a decade ago that I vaguely remember and seeing if they're still active. Most of them make absolute shit content now, but it's interesting to go back and see what they made ages ago, especially if they have things that function as a look into an era that no longer really exists. Do you have something like this that you've seen recently? I'd like to see your archeological finds.

What prompted me to make this thread was this series of videos, from a creator who was big back in the day known as Markeedragon, and it's a set of videos capturing a conference from over 17 years ago. Hearing the speakers talk about forums (as the main mode of communication), Myspace, and Digg is wild.

Videos from back when Youtube made you chop up content into ten minute sized bites.

I think about that fistpump he does often.

The dreaded PS5 Pro led me to finding this old gem of a remix:

The Internet used to make some absolute banger remixes back in the day. I miss them, they have so much soul.
Speaking of which, remember the meme about PS3 having no games?
No, wait, it's even more relevant nowadays, when every exclusive is merely a timed exclusive.

Continuing the topic of consoles, here's a video from 11 years ago about the announcement of PS4. Hilariously, dude was suggesting that Ouya and Steam machines would be competing with "big" consoles like PS4 and Xbone, but he was right on the money about the homogenization of consoles and games.

Epic 2000s style trolling and the 'edgy' humor at that time. I miss being a dumb kid.

Hark, all you ancient political spergs. Jib Jab will remind us of when online satire was made in good humor instead of bitter coping.

I remember listening to that shit all the time.

Reminds me of shit like this when you could say edgy things and be monetized

Back then you could have your edgy sites and creators, now everything has to be homogenized slop.
