Sony hate thread

While the whole mess with Concord was going on, some UK players have said that they had to submit age verification (as in scanning in a copy of a valid ID, a facial scan, or a mobile phone number) in order to get a PSN account to play God of War Ragnarok on PC. Some players also reported that the SMS part of age verification doesn't work as well:

The game is at Mixed ratings on Steam right now, because of the PSN account requirement to play the game, and performance issues:

"Oi, Wot'his? You got a loicense for there Teli-game mate?!

Fucking UKaistan policy makers being a bunch of totalitarian proto-communists.
Doxx yourself to play the Dad of War walking sim so Sony can boast of PSN accounts numbers to their shareholders. Bloody 'ELL!!

Call me late, but I just realized something. The PS5 reveal said 75% of players choose performance mode over quality mode. So players prefer high framerates over high resolutions.

... and Sony's response was to push resolution even further and ignore framerate :story:
It has not been discussed in here but I have seen it discussed elsewhere.

But yes, Sony is out of touch. I dread the PS6.

It's not just Sony that's out of touch - a lot of devs are obsessed with fidelity and consider anyone turning shit off to improve framerate to be an insult.

The entire AAA segment is dominated by people who think overengineered walking simulators with gay people are peak game design.

Funny how the only Uncharted games that were ported to PC were the deconstructions made by Druckmann.
It does seem like it's to do with him, but I think it's more likely Sony's just porting games on PS5 and nothing from previous consoles, unless it gets remastered/ported to PS5 as well.

Ironically, I even like cinematic crap to a degree, but I still want higher framerates.

At this point I think Sony's strategy is to just strongarm their retarded PSN and verification requirements until retards cave in and just accept them as normal. They probably think it'll work because they've seen other consoomers like capeshit retards and star wars troglodytes continue to purchase every ounce of fresh shit that comes out of the horses ass, all they gotta do is keep jangling the keys in front of hipsters and they'll cave in. You wanna play the new God of War? Only after you bend over and kiss the ring while Sony shoves its corporate finger up your ass and digs out whatever they think they can get away with. Every time they'll dig a little bit deeper and pull out a little bit more than before, and the Sony consoomers will stare aimlessly into the sky with shit on their lips wondering how Sony managed to trick them into getting fucked in the ass yet again. They're kinda like Bethesda fans in that sense.

When the hell are they gonna port The Last Guardian to PC?
On the same day that Shadow of the Colossus and Bloodborne get ported to PC. :)

Reconsidering not bouying a PS5 Pro now? :smug:

This is bullshit, right? A 4070 wouldn't struggle with "aiming to hit constant 60fps", no matter their upscaled-to-4k textures.

Ponies are so annoying with their comparisons. specially because they keep mentioning Nvidia as a reference point meanwhile the PlayStation has been using AMD GPU tech for years. If they are going to make direct comparisons to PC hardware they should look at Team Red's offerings.

The Pro was announced to have a 67% bigger die than the regular model, it struck me as a very specific number to use, so I think that this is because Sony is going to use a preexisting chip in the AMD stack that fits that description. The current PS5 has 36 CUs, if it is increased by 67% that gives us 60 CUs. Not surprisingly there is already a Radeon GPU that fits that criteria: The RX 7800 XT which compared to the RTX 4070 is close but the Nvidia card still outperforms it in some regards:

RX 7800 XT vs RTX 4070

Let not even start with the "it is as powerful as a 4090" nonsense:

RX 7800 XT vs RTX 4090

The 7800 retails for about $500 so it doesn't even break the bank. Sure, building a whole powerful PC is going to be more expensive up front but it doesn't have all the hidden costs and restrictions of a console.

It always comes back to Snoys being dumb cattle, they just want an idiot-proof box, using a PC requires thinking and that's too much of an ask.

My decade old PS4 pad is still holding up as well, i don't think those models were plagued by stick drift, though.
Did later models have worse build quality? The sticks on both of mine have held up and I've had 'em for close to a decade as well. The R2 button on one of them gave out but the sticks are fine.
