Sony hate thread

I still have working PS2 controllers, on one of them I recently had to replace the padding of the left stick because it broke apart after playing an action intense section in Devil May Cry 3, but the stick itself still works.

I don't blame people reporting having issues with newer controllers. I highly suspect the quality of the materials being use in the potentiometers of newer controllers is inferior on purpose so these have to be replaced with more frequency.
my main pc controller is the ds3

what the fuck are you people doing to your controllers. i still have in working order every play station controller since the ps2
PS2 controller were built to last. I dropped Coke on mine multiple times as a kid and they still worked after drying up.
I bought a PS5 controller, it came out of the box with a faulty trigger. I traded it for a different one, weeks later, the stick drift is so crazy pressing right went left. Couldn't get costumer service to trade it back. Fuck Sony, that shit cost a lot of money where I live (I don't have a PS5, btw, I just wanted a good gyro controller and decided to invest; even made sure it was from the second batch, which is supposed to be "fixed")

Woke companies are the guy who puts on rap music whenever he is in the car with a black friend in a very misguided idea that he is being nice only to be told he is being stereotypical, at which point he starts screaming racial slurs only to realise he is among their friend group and they all heard him. When he is called out, he says his account was hacked only to be told this is real life, not the internet which causes him to start calling them slurs too.
I swear to god you're a gimmick account purposely acting retarded to see if people agree with you.

I had a PSP analog nub stop working properly.

Otherwise same. Even my worst condition GameCube controller the analog is fine.

The new Playstation controllers use cheap graphite potentiometers to track the sticks which wear down over time. In the PS2 and PS3 era this wasn't much of a problem because the controllers would auto-calibrate themselves when powered on so even if they were drifting, the current level of drift would be set as the new center. Starting in the PS4, they stopped doing this.

Some games compensate for it but it eventually does become a problem.

For my PC I mainly use two controllers; An original Xbox 360 controller, the pads of the analog sticks wore off years ago but I added aftermarket pads to it and still works like a champ.

The second is a Logitech F310.

It is utilitarian, cheap, solid and reliable, no fancy features as it is a design from 2010, it just does the job, I love that it is a mixture of the PS symmetrical stick layout, the ABXY button of the Xbox and has a Sega Genesis style d-pad.

My Switch had minor drift almost immediately after purchase but other than that I've never had a stick become unusable, not even my N64. I really don't know what you all are doing.

Hmm... technically my SNES D-pad eventually started having issues, but that thing got a shitload of play and it was thirty years ago.

The F310 is seriously underrated, no other d-pad compares and I don’t know why no other controller has attempted something like it. I use that for 2D games and an 8BitDo Ultimate C for 3D.

The lifespan of the analog stick assembly in the PS5 controller is like 500 hours of average play. If you play videogames for 2 hours a day, it'll take less than 2/3rds of a year to wear one out.

This isn't "you were too rough with your stick", this is, "the stick is designed to fall apart after X hours of normal use"

Mate, you are the guy (or whatever) that starts fights over every disagreement. Stop going to war over your freaking takes. Not everyone is going to agree with you, people have different perspectives, no one knows everything, others seeing things differently from you does not mean you are smart and they are stupid, grow up and get over yourself.

I literally just want a native PC port of the original Uncharted trilogy. Same for the Infamous games.
And I agree, Neil Cuckmann literally pushed out Amy Hennig, a very talented woman, to make the game "more appealing" to women. And Hennig seems like a very nice old lady.
Funny how the only Uncharted games that were ported to PC were the deconstructions made by Druckmann. He also kinda forgot to include the writer of TLoU 1 in the credits of the remake/remaster.
After listening to Mark try to convince me that two similar images are different I remembered the next evolution of sound he promised everybody 4 years ago that never happened.

Its like Snoys have amnesia. They didn't even get to send Mark ear pics for his spank bank collection and now we are talking about eyes and how for 200-300 dollars more he will show you an additional pixel in the background.
What is the point of their 3D audio or whatever it's called? Isn't that just 5.1 surround?

whats up with sony and picking these fucking land whales to show case their products???..

here is another one, the playstation state of play ogre.
I thought they were the same person, lmao

My Switch Lite had minor drift out of the box, I think, or very shortly after. It doesn't really move menus unintentionally or anything but just doesn't feel very accurate.

My Vita 2000 has been heavily used and abused, and did get drift but I opened it up to re-adjust the shoulder button and I fiddled with the stick and cleaned it while I was in there, which worked.

My N64 controller also got a type of "drift", but it was common I guess because of how it was made, the sticks would get loose. Things still worked just fine though for the most part, you just had to press harder to get things to register correctly.

I'd put my steel rod in that Aloy, if you catch my drift.
I'd smelt her Aloy.

All I want is good stereo. Surround is such a stupid gimmick for such a tiny percentage, let alone all this other more recent bs.
It's similar to all the problems with VR, where you need a lot of hardware and a particular space for it to work properly. Stereo works reasonably well anywhere even if you've wedged a TV into a storage closet.

While the whole mess with Concord was going on, some UK players have said that they had to submit age verification (as in scanning in a copy of a valid ID, a facial scan, or a mobile phone number) in order to get a PSN account to play God of War Ragnarok on PC. Some players also reported that the SMS part of age verification doesn't work as well:

The game is at Mixed ratings on Steam right now, because of the PSN account requirement to play the game, and performance issues:

So the new meme is that PSSR is so revolutionary and better than DLSS. Guess they can't lean on the magical SSD meme anymore.
I'm betting that it's literally just going to be tweaked FSR. I mean, the PS5 has AMD hardware anyway, they may as well take stuff from them and call it revolutionary.

My DS3 has stayed alive for the past 15 years. Most of my controllers are fine, except for my Switch Joy-Cons. Only time my DS3 had an issue was when clicking the L3 and R3 buttons led to the triangle button being pressed due to something relating to the foam under the electrical contacts for the buttons, and I fixed it with electrical tape. Never had an issue since.
