Sony had both moments at once with how they handled Helldivers 2 for their PC audience. Yeah, making PC players authenticate themselves with your shitty ecosystem to play an existing game never goes well.

Too much of the old sony catalog is too problematic to bring back.

Not gonna lie, I like the non-edge controller, but fuck if i'm paying like $80 for a controller.

The current controllers from Sony are such utter dogshit that I'm surprised more people aren't bringing this up in cost comparisons. Yeah you get a controller with the PS5 and PS5 Pro, but it's likely not going to last more than six months and over the course of the console's lifespan you'll probably be paying another few hundred dollars just replacing controllers.

Of course you can just mod the controller with hall-effect sticks but at that point - why bother? That's more work than just throwing together a PC.

If there's audio/video of the internal meetings post-release as pesky reality was bearing down on them like a freight train, I'm convinced it would sell way better than anything else Sony has produced in recent years.
