I hate Boulder, Colorado. People here talk a big game about being accepting and welcoming of minorities until you have the terrible misfortune of having to share the sidewalk with me. I'd honestly much rather be called a slur to my face so I can deal with you up front. As an Indian man, I am treated like scum here. I am either faced with great disgust, or inappropriately directed curiosity. I never felt like I fit in here for some of the usual reasons such as not taking a great interest in the outdoors or in watching CU football games, but the racial issues I face here surpass those by a mile.

Retard fails to recognized how absurdly insular Indians are in the USA. Here in all of the major cities of Texas you have Indian enclaves that seemingly go out of their way to only interact with other Indians. Indian FOBs gravitate towards those places and when they spend time somewhere else for education or something they always tell how their goal is to move to some well known area of Dallas that is full of other Indians.

Goes without saying that Indians in corporate America militantly remove non-Indians so they can hire more Indians. I have seen this a half dozen times in my going on 20 years in corporate America. In neighborhoods Indians immediately form sub-groups within the neighborhood and never bother to interact with white people unless they have to. Creating private messaging groups and such.

As a typical white dude living in Texas I get tired of having 50% of my coworkers be first generation Indian immigrants that I can barely understand. I get tired of HEB and Costco being full of Indians in traditional dress. It's almost a rarity to walk around the Austin suburbs and hear only non-accented English being spoken.

It's exhausting knowing that when you apply for a job in Texas you are for some reason competing with a billion people on the other side of the Earth for that job now. Even in a local position.
