Here phenobarbital taken orally is used if someone is able to self administer the dose.

It's also not classed as suicide and is recorded on the death certificate as death from the underlying illness. Death benefits and life insurance are unaffected.

My fathers last few hours at home in hospice care he started crying out for his mother. I knew it was almost time so I gave him an extra dose of morphine and Ativan even though my mother was against it. It was just a normal dose not an OD. That would 100% come up post-mortem, so odds are it would void it. It could also potentially get whoever administered the dose or was his main caregiver into deep shit.
