IIRC, Boogie was technically homeless at one point, as in he didn't have his own place to stay and was a couch surfer. Legally, at least where I live, that's classed as homeless. But I can't believe he was ever living on the streets either which is what he's trying to invoke.

He did mentioned breaking into his old university and living in one of the buildings. I know homeless is a broad term but just like how cancer is used to imply an individual is in need of extreme treatments homeless generally used to imply someone doesn’t have a place to stay.

IIRC his 'homeless' was either sleeping in Chad's room, or sleeping on random couches in the university when he couldn't sneak into the residence. He claims six months, so we can probably easily cut that at least in half (if not more). This is basically couch-surfing and while technically homeless, virtually everyone who has been actually homeless wouldn't really consider it the same thing at all.

The degree of difficulty living your life between couch-surfing with a friend and having somewhere to store your stuff without it being stolen or destroyed constantly and really being homeless on the street with nowhere to go is MILES apart.
