There is some hysteria about the taurine in energy drinks possibly causing strokes. I believe I’ve heard Jack call out that ingredient specifically.
Grifters love to make up fake shit about food because the average person can't understand it. Just because an ingredient is hard to pronounce to nimrods like Jack Scalfani doesn't make it good or bad, but somehow that's an argument nowadays.
>ewwww I never did high school chemistry and can't read big werds this must be bad!!!!
They should shut the fuck up.
They started going after MSG, I didn't care because I'm not yellow
Then they came after carbs, I didn't care because I'm not fat
Then they came after caffeine, I don't care because I don't drink coffee
Now they're going after taurine, I still don't care because I don't drink energy drinks
It's funny to see the people who bitch about these typically cook with plastic coated pans (like you know, Gordon "MSG is a thickener, how-dah cheese" Ramsay).
Any ingredient must be used in moderation. Too much water can even cause poisoning. The amount of MSG, caffeine or taurine, or even salt and pepper to cause adverse effects is really high. Is anyone using 50g of MSG in every meal for years? Salt?
Ridiculous.
Just moderate sugar intake and don't eat too much fried stuff.
