A Russian RS-28 “Sarmat” intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) reportedly exploded during a test at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, according to the OSINT project MeNMyRC.

The group released satellite images showing a large crater at the test site, providing visual evidence of the failed launch.

MeNMyRC based its conclusions on satellite imagery and flight data from U.S. reconnaissance aircraft.

“The enormous crater indicates that the missile detonated in the silo, destroying the test range,” an expert stated.

Additional satellite data from NOAA-20 and SUOMI NPP also confirmed a fire in the area. NOAA-20 and the SUOMI NPP satellites have detected two instances of the fire as they crossed the area in their orbits. However, there’s no way to determine from this data alone if the fire is incidental to the launch or caused by a failed launch near the pad.

The RS-28 “Sarmat,” known as the “Satan II” in the West, is designed to carry multiple nuclear warheads over long distances. The missile reportedly exploded in its launch silo, damaging the site and infrastructure. While the missile was not equipped with a warhead due to the test nature of the launch, the crater size suggests a catastrophic failure.

The only successful launch of new Russian missile occurred on April 20, 2022.

According to a report from CNBC, the longest test flight of the “Sarmat” lasted just over two minutes, covering a distance of 35 kilometers before it lost control and crashed.

In 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the missile to be placed on combat duty, a directive that was reportedly fulfilled in September 2023. The Sarmat is a key element of Russia’s strategic nuclear program, and the destruction of the test site could have broader implications for its development.

It remains unclear whether the recent incident was a failed launch attempt or part of a fueling exercise. A more detailed analysis of the readiness of ground services, particularly at the Kura test range, could provide additional insights. However, access to higher-resolution satellite imagery of these areas is currently unavailable.

The Taliban didn't kick anyone out of Afghanistan. They came out of the caves they were stuck in when the US left and routed the Afghani loser army.

The Taliban was in power when the US invaded. The Taliban are still power now. The US wasted all that time, money and lives, and still lost the war. It may pain you to admit because the US military is so impressive on paper, but that's all it is - a paper tiger.

You can keep saying this stuff but it doesn't make it true, it just makes it stuff you said.

I know right? Just ask this guy how non-threatening the US army is:

By today's standards they aren't. I already told why but you illiterate nigger seem to just ignore the fact your govt turned the once mighty and actually terrific army force to be reckoned with into a cunt circus full of same illiterate niggers as you, fags in drag and women with more testosterone in them body than in average American army male recruit these days.

Or we could just ask these guys, since this is who the US lost to in Afghanistan lol

You mean the people pissing their pants until we left then act like top dogs in our absence. LMAO. We could have stayed in Afghanistan indefinitely if we wanted to and they'd still be squatting underground repeating back their "We have the time" mantra for comfort.

This is just more of your inability to distinguish between the martial and the political.

Can still kick Russia and China's asses, that's all that matters. This disastrous war in Ukraine is probably the most humiliating strategic defeat any nation has suffered since the Italian invasion of Ethiopia. It makes Russia look like the total Third World joke it is.

Or maybe the Ugandan invasion of Tanzania, Idi Amin is a lot closer to Putin in terms of competence than Mussolini.

To use the war in Ukraine as an example of what I'm talking about. Its entirely possible for Russia to win militarily (That is, for the army to accomplish its wartime goals as laid out by the political regime) and for the resulting downstream effects of the war to haunt the current regime until it collapses because the goals laid out by the regime were short-sighted or foolish. Not saying that will happen by the way, just pointing out that its not inconceivable.

Its also possible this happens to Israel. Probably even more likely in their case if I had to guess.

Seems to me like our Lord and Saviour doesn't want things to pop off too soon. Understandable, honestly.

The T-14 and Su-57 FAIL-on are still essentially pre-production prototypes.
That aside, we're discussing a missile that blew up in its own silo and hasn't been successfully tested by the actual operating crews instead of R&D personnel yet has officially been declared combat operational by Russia.

How about this dude?

Turns out that when you enter a war without a clear objective or strategic vision its impossible to win it, but if you have a clearly-defined goal (gank this one asshole in particular) and a strategic vision of how to do it (blow his ass up with a drone) its surprisingly easy to get shit done. What's Putin's clear objective or strategic vision for Ukraine? De-Nazify it? That's pretty fucking vague and can mean anything from "install puppet" to "purge half the country after the inevitable guerilla movement starts". What's his strategic vision of how to accomplish it, WWI-style attritional warfare? Because it sure seems like he didn't have a backup plan if Operation Marketski Gardeniy failed and he couldn't immediately take Kiev and that he's been winging it since then.

Except Russia hasn't declared what their actual military goals are. There was talk about "three days to Kyiv" at the start of the invasion, but since then they have not made any definitive statements on what goals they have to meet in order to secure victory. Everything on Russia's part in this war has been incompetent bumblefuckery, and they have entirely destroyed their reputation on the world stage.

I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that Russia's military goals (As things stand currently) are the conquest of lands east of the Dnieper. How realistic or attainable these goals are, and if they're worth the cost in blood, treasure, material, and foreign relations that Russia is currently expending, you tell me

The Cadmean victory. You win, but at the cost of ruining yourself.

To get back to rockets, maybe the Russian military should tap up Roscosmos and borrow some Angaras. They seem to be having more success with the whole "get to space" thing.

Maybe.

I mean, no, actually, you're a fucking retarded snownigger, or you suck their dicks, I'm not sure which is the case, but I'll allow, for the sake of argument, "maybe".

Doesn't matter, since every other military on earth is still worse. You think we're bad? Yeah. Great. We're still king retard. The goddamned retarded 800 pound gorilla.

Sure, tried and tested design. The URM-1s that the Angaras use as their core and boosters are an evolution of the RD-170 from back in the 80s. It's all but literally a soviet-era rocket design. Which was back when Russia was still technologically ahead of places like North Korea.
