Keep in mind that the GNU General Licenses have a clause allowing the user to ignore any further restrictions placed on the product that are not part of the license as published by the FSF.

That's the thing though, its not licensed under GPLv3, but GPLv3+NIGGER, which is a different license. If they were the same, it would be GPLv3.
Modern graphics are about blasting pixels as fast as possible to the GPU pipeline. X11 is not made to do that, and struggles blasting pixels fast enough with the massive resolutions and color depths in common use today.
This basically doesn't mean anything. Xorg has no issues "BLASTIN PIXELS". I'm blastin pixels all day. It's Wayland who actually has real problems BLASTIN PIXELS considering all this shit is regarding FIFO and the pipeline stalling. Wayland literally cannot blast the pixels, it stops the pixel blastin and then the program stalls.
It won't be easy making that work because current year troons believe that everything must be about them, always, and that anyone who tries to shift the focus is committing a hate crime. Saying "let's stick to the task" is interpreted as you saying "no politics please" which is a direct attack on all marginalized groups who will die if their struggle is not centered and it brands you as a Nazi.
You jest but Linux would not be as mainstream as it has become in recent years if it weren't for Valve. Them doing their own shit with Wayland instead of sitting on their hands and waiting for FOSS trannies to stop arguing is emblematic of this.
Godot is nowhere near nor will it ever be an alternative to Unreal or Unity. It can be, maybe, somewhat useful for simple indie games.
If you have a decent graphics driver providing a direct rendering interface that bypasses Xorg and X11 and programs that can use it, yeah there’s no problem at all blasting pixels right from the firehose. There’s nothing in the way. A compositor like Wayland is necessarily in the way, but ideally just a little so you don’t feel you have to bypass it to get the pixel blasting performance you deserve.
I'm pretty sure this is what LibreELEC + Kodi does. LiberELEC is a small Linux distro designed for a Raspberry Pi, that only runs Kodi, and had it setup to render direct to hardware. It was the only Linux distro that could do real HDR (BT.2020 color metadata) rendering for watching your favorite pirated HDR mkvs. I don't think it had X11 or a Wayland composer, but used straight DRI. It's been a while so I could be wrong.

Technically the program stalling is a Mesa issue as Mesa is violating the Vulkan standard by making vkQueuePresentKHR potentially take an infinite amount of time when a game has vsync on and its window is fully occluded.
That sounds nice on paper but if you want an example of why it's a horrible fucking idea in practice just look at NixOS.
