uses Sotamayor's quotes like she's a genius and a scholar
Lmao. Sotomayor is probably one of the dumbest people to sit on the bench, ever. She’s so so stupid it’s unbelievable.
Idk why you’d choose to quote her over Kagan, except that Kagan isn’t as partisan as Sotomayor, nor as likely to make stupid comments.

Syria was already a mess long before any US involvement. It’s been caught in so many civil wars that is has greatly reduced the population (and said fights are mainly on what brand of Islam should rule the land).

Syria experienced no population declines until the US started arming the FSA.

On a geopolitical scale, it’s only relevant so far as it is aligned with Russia

In 2012, Assad signed a deal with Iran to build a major gas pipeline through his territory that would supply Europe with gas. We began arming terrorists to overthrow him the same year. We officially attacked Syria in 2017, then invaded and seized its oil fields in 2018.

It's a neat trick for the US to arm rebels, then invade under the pretext that "it's a mess," then pretend that what we did totally doesn't count "because your country isn't significant."

Crimea is even less significant than Syria. There's no major resource we care about there.

Sonia Sotomayor is probably the dumbest person to ever wear a Supreme Court robe. Even dumber than
Ketanji Brown Jackson. Brown Jackson at least asks interesting questions during oral arguments. Sotomayor sits there.

Re: Tucker is a Christian. Let me give my perspective (this and five bucks will get you a cuppa coffee).

Full disclosure, I knew Tucker for a short time back in the early mid-90s, so I make no claims to having a particular window into his soul.

Carlson is an Episcopalian. I used to be. The Episcopal Church, in general, is basically just Atheism Plus, just with fancy vestments and expensive buildings.

This is not to say that there aren't some real, honest, indwelling of the Spirit believers within TEC. But they are few and far between nowadays, the vast majority of them having either being forced out or having voluntarily fled for more conservative, orthodox Anglican parishes.

So to me, "Episcopalian" equates to "non-practicing Christian." I'd like to hear his testimony before I can accept the he's actually a believer instead of just an Episcopalian.

This was pages back, but re: Tucker & religion, he did a 3hr interview with Shawn Ryan where he talked about his religious views & background a fair bit. I listened to the entire thing awhile back, & he specifically mentions how he was essentially a cultural Christian, and one day while attending church with his wife, the female (iirc) minister made some woke commentary that turned him off completely. He vowed never to attend that church again, & after that it seems he started taking his religious beliefs more seriously.

It was a couple of months ago so I don't remember exactly where he dropped that in the conversation, but it looks like from 2:22 onward the discussion is around religion/spirituality:

pretty crazy how no ww2 veterans stepped up when we were desegregating schools. You have people shooting guns over getting the wrong order at Rosco's chicken and Waffles but somehow not a single fucking vet was willing to use a gun to protect their schools?
Maybe the federal government should handle the chicken and waffle orders then, that would solve everything. World War 2 veterans sure of must been eager to risk going against the military and the National Guard.

List of times the Insurrection Act was invoked from the 1950s to the 1960s:

If you look into "Civil Rights Martyrs" and how some died there evidently were people who resisted desegregation but ultimately their side lost, those who had more power got what they wanted and here we are today in the aftermath of it all.

Not sure if posted elsewhere but Ken Klipperstein posted a 271 page dossier about JD Vance sourced from iran. His account got suspended after sharing it.

nvm im late and gay.

site archive

I attached the dossier as well.
Skimmed through about half of it, but a lot seems to be 1) nothing interesting (he got a speeding ticket!) 2) Things prior to 2018-2020 where he seems to have organically changed his mind on some things 3) Him disagreeing with Trump on certain things which I don't mind 4) Based takes like being pro-family

That's not to discourage anyone else from reading it, just to express my surprise at how.... nothing it is at first glance. Still catching up on the thread though.
