I have friends who are black and from black families who don't do any of that shit. They do not eat corn starch, wash chicken, or over-season their food. I think that this is a Southern thing, though, since all the black people I know are from north of the Mason-Dixon line. Your mileage may vary.
Wait, what's wrong with washing chicken? You are supposed to wash any meat to, ya know, get rid of all the greasy blood it comes with in a package.

It's myoglobin, a protein, not blood. Washing introduces more bacteria to the meat not less. And cooking kills bacteria anyway. You're retarded. Stick to trendies and chocolate milk next time.

If you're trolling you should know that it isn't obvious, as there are people out there who really do this.
What isn't obvious? I did this all for all of my life, my family and all of my acquaintances did this for all of their lives. It's obviously the correct thing to do.

lol source? And I don't care if it's aKsCHuAllY not blood, it's still disgusting and greasy. It's still "dirt", so to speak.

In all seriousness, you should stop. You are literally helping bacteria and other dangerous stuff, that should only live on the surface, to get deeper into the meat, where the heat will have a hard time killing it.

Same with eggs. The way egg shell works, if you make it wet you're actually opening it up and pushing all the shit and salmonella from the surface into it.

Please start thinking about stuff, and the correct way to do things and why. For your own good, stop doing things just because "I've always done it and the people around me has always done it too".

Ewww no, it's fucking disgusting. You don't eat meat when it's OOZING BLOOD. You wash it first, then season and cook it in whatever way you prefer until it's moderately tough to chew, has a beige color and has no pink spots in the middle. That is simply a given.

What does this have to do with my personal welfare? And also yes, like I already mentioned above; though I don't usually cook steak, it's either the whole chicken or chicken breast fillet more often than not for me.

Okay you imbecile. I didn't say you're supposed to wash it with soap like it's a fucking fruit. You simply need to rinse your meat under a stream of warm water to wash the blood off before you start cooking.

Also just to clarify: I'm not black.

No wonder you don’t “usually” cook steak. Even if you’re not black, you’re still a retard. An honorary black.

Now I understand what they were saying about the 2024 accounts. I feel ashamed of my 2024ness now.

Honestly this is a huge revelation to me. Do Americans really NOT wash their food before cooking? What the fuck? The shops aren't supplying clean food for you to be able to immediatly consume without any preliminary cleaning, you know.

I mean, if you can provide some actual sources regarding the supposed dangers of washing meat I guess I can rethink my ways, though I must admit the concept of eating dirty food is still completely mind-boggling and alien to me.
Also in regards to the point you made about eggs: I don't wash eggs before breaking them, but if what you're saying is true then how are you supposed to boil them? Wouldn't boiling an egg make all of the salmonella bacteria get absorbed right into it by your logic?
yeah, germs in water vs literally the shit and dirt that chickens wallow in?
I'm gonna go cook some water germs
Literally this. The conditions your average broiler chicken is raised in are, to put it midly, filthy and unsanitary. I fail to see how keeping all of THAT on your chicken is preferrable to simply washing it beforehand.
