Rules, based on his MATI streams

  1. Has to basically pass a parents guide test
  2. Lolis are banned, no matter how slight
  3. I'm pretty sure any cleavage would be a no
  4. A good dub would probably help
This is a legit question, does a anime exist that is just as if not even more clean than the Secret life of Arrietty?

Dude I can like anime and still find fault in it, it's because I've watched a shit ton that i've come to understand that while I love it, I think some of it is shitty, needs to go into the garbage disposal if we ever want to be taken seriously. You know how I formed these opinions? Filthy Frank, bitch.
You can like the culture without becoming it. Most forget this and don't go outside. And the reason Null keeps bitching is because he has repeated these opinions since he started the site. Pop into a old thread and see what he's said. You'd get grumpy too.
And I said liking a few anime is fine--after all, it's just Japanese animation. I think it's retarded to live online and think anything "japanese animation" is weeb shit. If you live terminally online in meme land and only see screenshot of pantsu and shit, yeah, but you shouldn't live terminally online, should you? And I don't care if you got your opinion from Filthy Frank, lol, I think he's cringe, but you do you, he's not my thing...

And no, I don't really feel like "you can like the culture." Otaku/anime culture is bullshit. It's infantile, meme-y, consumerist, CHILDISH culture. Otakus live in perpetual childhood. It feels like a form of infantile regression, right down to the obsession with characters with almost neonatal features. You're more into this shit than I am.

And no, null is grumpy because being a controversial forums administrator is a curse. It's an inherently angry and stressful position, follows you around in your head everywhere, and it doesn't pay very well, and there always, always, ALWAYS entails a LOT of drama that goes on behind the scenes that's very painful and even sometimes heart-pounding, all without a real win-condition. I didn't bring up Lowtax to dis him--he can take what I say or leave it, but it's a reminder that sometimes the people on your forums that disagree with you or even dis you a little aren't always doing it because you have that target on your back. I've been around and interacted with Lowtax back in the day and before he died, and his victim mentality made him hostile to anyone that gave him even constructive criticism.
and trust me, after having interacted with Lowtax back in his heydey, I am always hestitant to ever respond to a forum admin, and it's on my mind every time I reply to one--dude was one of the most insufferable pricks on the internet, and one of the few cows I hoped would actually off himself. Anyone who interacted with Lowtax when he thought he was top dog knows exactly what I mean

I do admire the Japanese in my line of work as a welder for quite a few things, not just anime, but their ability to build good shit. You want good optics for a rifle or binoculars? Japan is A tier. They work hard at what they do. I admire that non weeb related thing about them greatly, they make good cars, electronics, glass, best in all of Asia. Same with the weebery. They are constantly churning out new ideas. Much is trash, but some is good, which is more than you can say of the western comic/media industry, where you might have one good comic, or a good film or two, maybe A SINGLE SHOW, if you're lucky.

I don't disagree his job is stressful. Now add on top having to repeat yourself all the time. Its called layers. Like onions. And ogres. I would rather find common ground with him than fight him like everyone else on the internet wants to while still respectfully disagreeing with him. And I've read up on Lowtax- he's nowhere close. I just want him to have some happiness, which is part of why i made this thread, to reccomend only the best of anime, only to find that even if we picked the cleanest of the clean, he just doesn't like anime. It's like onions on cheeseburgers, some love it, others hate it.

First of all, the man don't like it. No rules gunna make him change his mind. But hold a gun to my head...

I haven't watched it in 20 years, and it probably breaks at least 2 of the rules, but I say FLCL. It's short, has a good soundtrack, wasn't too weird with Loli shit.... That I remember... But it definitely explored the medium well. Shit I just need to go watch this again.

No, this is just okay with you.
I'm not watching a ten minute video by a br*tish w*man about a movie she probably didn't even understand, judging by her audience (You). And I don't care about your retarded apples and oranges argument. You equated anime upskirt shots to Leon the Professional. Put the controller down nigga. There's a reason you wrote up a wall of text in reply to everyone but me, it's because you know I'm right. How can you even type something so fucking retarded as "but a slight-upskirt shot in an action/movement scene (which happens in western animation) which isn't sexual in the slightest"
Do you have special needs?

He can try YugiOH, its dumb and for children but you can probably laugh about it with a friend because it is hilariously stupid.
And I dont remember any pantyshots there.
NVM apparently there are and I jsut did not notice as a kitd

Jesus Christ ive never realized how big this kid problem in anime is, I don't watch Anime so I thought that there is at least some normal stuff.

Motherfucker don't ruin Yugioh for me that was my childhood with Kaiba's actor smoking crack between takes for all the shit he had to say

Can't believe no one's mentioned Wings of Honneamise yet. "Serious" drama about a listless young man who meets a nice Christian girl and tries to turn his life around by becoming the first man in space.

Reviving this thread just to say Nully Null won. I can't find the screenshot at the moment, but there's a story of Miyazaki drunkenly proclaiming his lust for little girls at a bar with Mamoru Oshii, the director of Ghost in the Shell (which is about a robot prostitute who often appears naked).
It appears on the lolicon/shotacon defenders there, but there isn't enough info to say that Miyazaki definetely is one

First page has some bad suggestions or ones so obscure I never even heard of them, when suggesting anime you always stick to the classic mainstream shit, like Death Note.

I mean we all know the best recommendation is Corey in the House
Corey-san no Desu Doki Doki Houseu is overrated.

I binged all of Death Note in two days, and I agree
Shit's amazing. It has one of the best soundtracks to any anime, and even if the story isn't as deep as it's made out to be it is told so well it still feels like a gripping game of cat & mouse. And the characters are incredible, of course.

This is my favorite scene, it's not from the anime but the first recap film, right after L's death. It best highlights how far removed from humanity Light became that even Ryuk, a god of death, is looking at him like he's nuts.
