Pardon the double post, but if you're wondering what publication is Tumblr's nominee for the most trustworthy new outlet, it's Teen Vogue.

A large majority of Tumblr can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept of Rule 63. Genderbending is just that: Changing their gender! It's not exactly rocket science, and it doesn't mean the character is automatically made trans.

They're drawings of fictional people, chill out.

Also loving the Voltron tag, because of course it's the Voltron fanbase.

Really I think it's that these people have never really grown out of childhood mentality and have that edgy "adults know nothing I'm so woke and smart" pseudo-intellectual Holden Caulfield mentality and they think every young person has that mentality.

Tumblr jumped on it because they see Pidge as being ~*~trans representation~*~ when in reality she cut her hair and wore baggy clothes to hide who she was to join the space cadets. (some people see Pidge as a trans man or a trans woman even though it's fucking obvious she's a "cis" girl.)

It's pretty good, imo, but I tend to avoid the tumblr fandom cause of how dumb they are.

Trans headanons arent the same as genderbending.

Genderbending is changing a characters gender and with that their design. Its just a fun little fandom thing. You could also genderbend a trans character without insulting the normal trans community; mtf->ftm or vice versa.
