I was a retarded sycophant. When people in other chats were saying Nick was spiraling into cocaine addiction, I defended him. I thought, given my own life experience of having a disabled child that can make you vanish without warning for several minutes at a time, that his absences might be due to a family or child illness, one that he'd not want to talk about on camera, and that his weight loss might reflect the stress of it. I projected my own experiences on him, and being the empathic sort, I defended him.
