DeSantis is as establishment as George Bush Jr.

He's just the governor of a state that can and will vote in a gay meth-head to replace you if you fuck up the job. He can't not be good at the job.

It really can't be overstated how fucked it is that they're not even gaming for Asheville or some of the pocket minority towns that got hit. Asheville is so far left in general that if Kamala flew in and landed on Marine 2 they'd probably make a gay statue of the moment to smoke weed next to, it's probably the one real city in the state she could walk into and receive almost no snarky republican boos, only praise.
That she isn't already on the ground out there tells me she's probably cradling a bottle of liquor and knows she can't maintain sobriety or sincerity long enough to fake it for such an important thing as a natural disaster. Kamala would be an absolutely fucking horrible president even if she wasn't a far left commie because the first time some real event happened she would be hiding under her desk with the bottle of grey goose.

I think it's a far flung attempt to make Vance and Trump supporters over confident. He's probably just as nervous as they say he is, though. Who knows, nothing that campaign does makes any sense.

as bad as the campaign has been, i wouldn't be shocked if walz really is nervous and scared and one of the factions leaked it thinking it was something we didnt' already know. I swear it feels like some of kamala's people want her to lose badly.

I have an associate in Metter, GA and he said they're pretty fucked. There's about 100 trees down on his property from the winds and he lost some shingles off the roof. Local high winds hits the 80s. A small tornado touched down and destroyed a significant amount of their local electrical infrastructure. Local utilities are quoting mid-late October for when power will be returned. What's really pissing him off is that he shares a property line with a 500 acre solar farm that is still producing electricity but it isn't being used locally.

Also, the fact that a guy who admittedly didn't know what he was doing could do a not half bad job at president really makes me laugh at how bleak the implication of that is.

Calvin Coolidge admitted that he didn't really know what to do when he was sworn in as President after Warren G Harding died, but that he reminded himself that "you can't be sure what you are capable of until you try" And he ended up being the most effective president in history.

I know people probably get sick of seeing me post about Coolidge but what can I say, I love the guy (no homo) and I think the difference between now and 100 years ago is very poignant. We deserve a Roaring 20s 2.0

100% agree. Even if you have problems with DeSantis, he is fucking phenomenal when it comes to preparing for natural disasters and responding to them. I've even seen my leftist friends praise him for that.

I have to say something about Beshear, he's been rock solid on natural disasters too, I can't stand his politics and I think he's a scumbag piece of shit, but when it comes to tornadoes and floods, he's been great. He has a calm demeanor that makes him a somewhat steady voice in horrible times. The mayfield tornado and the east kentucky floods were handled about as well as you could.

To be frank, Katrina was a perfect storm of everything that could go wrong going wrong. There is no one reason why it was a catastrophic disaster; basically it was a complete clusterfuck where on every possible level, response was fucked up due to everyone utterly underestimating the carnage a hurricane can cause combined with everyone being caught off guard by just how apocalyptic the hurricane known as Katrina turned out to be.

Rob Schneider issss.... a comedian who has been very famous for decades, has been in many hit movies including a few that he was the lead in plus a few TV shows including of course SNL in which he was a main cast member for years and has been a Republican since 2013 and has spoken out on many conservative issues since at least then. How exactly is he a grifter? Being a grifter would be still being a Democrat and speaking out in support of every cultural marxist cause going so that he could keep getting cast in as many Hollywood movies as possible. You can tell they're desperate to have the Dems come in to save the day and then report on it to boost the numbers, but neither Biden nor Harris seem remotely interested in doing their part. Isn't it amazing how the news just stops reporting on things once it might make Biden look bad? Even during Obama's presidency I never noticed a bias so blatant.

there’s no reason for other countries to try and brown nose Harris. if she gets elected it will signal that the US will barely have a functioning government and be in such a weak position on the world stage that your gibs-dependent country is fucked or you can just ignore the presudent of the US and start grabbing at whatever power you can to survive the eventual global power shake up
