There are reports of trucks carrying goods that are getting their tires slashed.

I also have seen videos talking about Asheville's local government rejecting supplies. I'll find them and post them here.

I know that Roy Cooper (gov., NC) has told people to stay away. I imagine that includes anyone bringing donations, unless he's provided a drop-off spot where authorities and rescue teams can deliver them to the needy. He hasn't provided any links or information on how to help the people in NC who have been affected by Hurricane Helene except for this post:
1727719151072.png But I wouldn't be too sure that it doesn't empty out into his campaign coffers. Apparently, there are more local charities to which you can donate. Here's a GoFundMe for privately-owned helicopters to deliver goods. More charities are on the actual Hurricane Helene thread.

If true, the tires getting slashed are probably Marxists/anarchists and the local government rejecting supplies is probably because they have nowhere to safely put any of it. That's me being optimistic.

Yeah, that's a shame. I'm not really religious but that picture with Saint Michael smiting Satan goes hard. I know of many catholics who would feel better represented by saint Michael kneeling down and washing Satan's feet lol

Local govt's in the middle of a disaster don't have the human resources to sort through or distribute random stuff people donate and there is a liability factor involved too. Find a local church or charity to give that stuff to, or better yet just donate cash.

... that goes into someone's wallet. It may not be someone who needs it. I can see a lot of people trying to make a profit off of suffering.

As annoying as they are I cannot impart blame on them for being lost and confused. The Church in the northeast had a particularly egregious movement of Pedophiles around the church for nearly 30 years. The reason why it went on for so long was because of Bishops who were too cowardly or had political motives that prevented them from outing pedophiles in their churches. Back then Churches used to be political machines for the conservative democrats but after the abuse was found out the church never really recovered and retreated out of shame.

For anyone who doesn't do guns, a bad mount can really fuck up your aim in a way that's hard to properly describe. Like, even if the optic feels totally solid it can still be loose enough to shift your point of aim by several inches per shot. This guy electrical taped (not secure at all) the mount to the dust cover (a piece that's already too loose to hold an optic) and it was somehow ok???

Why the fuck can Springfield not make an optic mount for M14s/M1As that works? lmao

Showing up to the Mayors office with a pack of diapers is going straight into the dumpster so same difference. It's just feel-good bullshit that causes a lot more problems than it will help.

Coincidentally, a woman was going around one of the towns, apparently begging for diapers. There are also services, like privately-owned helicopters, where I can't see the owners donating that much money up front.
