Godotbros it's so over... Unitybros we're so back? Or is it time for a Sneeddot fork...

You mean you're not still using Tenacity and Glimpse?
Some months ago I checked, Sneedacity was still alive, although moving on very slowly, not sure which of the forks Tenacity is, right now. Glimpse had went totally over my head... With a quick search, I find two dead forks. Not sure if/which one is the original. The base one is https://github.com/joshgiesbrecht/Glimpse. Not updated in 5 years. They link to a getglimp.app page, which is something entirely different now. But the Patreon is still up! The fork of this, https://github.com/azubieta/Glimpse, which was last touched 3 years ago, links to a glimpse-editor.github.io page, which is dead. The Facebook page (!) also seems dead, and so does the Twitter page. I don't know about their GitHub sponsors page, not worth logging in, but their Open Collective page is properly archived, and, judging from the last donation, officially and properly shows the end of the project.

Because they know that culture is a pendulum which swings from conservative to progressive and back. They're acutely aware that the pendulum is returning to conservatism, and so they're ensuring that it can only go so far before returning momentum towards progressivism. They're worming their ways into the cores of these projects to ensure they maintain control throughout the winds of change because if they lose it now, it's going to play out terribly for them.
I'm curious what you have on your mind when you say "play out terribly"

I've been thinking about messing around with RayLib, I like how modular it is and the fact it seems to have bindings for pretty much every language
It's definitely interesting, but you might run into issues if you try to use their implementation of model instancing. Something about the way it works poisons models for any other draw function during the current batch and requires custom shaders to even render. If you're not trying to scale to 100,000 instances of a model, you can easily get away their standard calls, with the 2d stuff being batched behind the scenes regardless.

Have there been any YouTube videos done on this shitshow? Other than the Bryan Lunduke video
Just search for Godot. Here's one from Hero Hei, a minor Weeb Wars figure and not a tech guy:

Gamefromscratch, channel name sounds vaguely familiar:

Also one from Asmongold, the cockroach man:

Well there goes my interest in the engine. Back to Unity and programming my own, I guess. Why do faggots and trannies have to poison open-source everywhere?
It's over. Time to go back to Unity.
I mean, do you really think Unity, who makes & shills Safe Voice, an AI powered anti-toxicity voice chat moderator, doesn't support the same things as the Godot devs? At least with Godot you don't ever have to give them a cent to use the software at a large scale. With Unity, you are literally funding the censorship of chats if you pay for a license. Also you can freely fork Godot.

Just an observation, but why is it much more often permissively licensed stuff has problems like this? Do GPL'd projects attract a different demographic, or have I just missed out on these controversies with GPL projects?

I'm kind of insulted you're implying I do, because I don't. But Unity is at least profit-driven, so I can see them easing the brakes when the pendulum swings. Godot being FOSS, when they get the tranny rot touch, it runs deep and it sticks.

Just further motivates me to work on more than rendering, make a proper engine for my own projects.

Does any of the game devs here have experience with those Cocos game engines?

This seems like one of the only high quality, open source engines. But I don't know if it's actually a shit engine and if the devs are niggers or not.

This I can back up from experience. Juan knew to not spam up his twitter. Akien's twitter was always 90% screeching.

Juan is not a leftist, he left Argentina when a new leftist government came into power and complained openly to a opposition newspaper about the foreign exchange controls that didn't let him work as a software developer.

All the Godot people had to do was literally fucking nothing. They took the bait. No one even knows what this is about. Everyone just saw Godot say "yeah we're woke!" and that was that. Some people haven't gotten the memo, especially in some pockets of the tech industry. Woke and DEI is dead. No one likes it. It's no longer an easy win to antagonistically virtue signal on twitter.

The end stage of the engine/framework treadmill is you just go back to SDL because it supports everything and you literally don't need more.

Suffice to say this aged like milk.

No project is safe, unless you fight to protect it.

I am burnt on FOSS at this point. Godot was the last open source project I had any kind of hopes for and now it's clear they're just going to let it get shit up by trannies like every other open source thing.

I hope the FOSS community collapses and gets eaten alive by proprietary software. I will be in my LWJGL corner doing my own thing while trannies destroy everything good.

Unreal is slow, Unity is a scam, Godot is gay. Is this the perfect moment for CyberChud to come in and swoop up the communities scattered?!? Here's my proposal for a CoC:
"By contributing to the CyberChud project I solemnly swear that I won't act like a FAGGOT."
I think that's all you need, really.
