It basically says that they ( The Committee on Oversight and Accountability) know that the CCP is working to influence members of the US Government. They (The Committee) know that the DHS has investigated Walz connections to China and want all documents related to that investigating.

I'm tempted to say this is another example of American progressive cargo cult politics at work - trying to implement the exact same things Europe has without understanding why those things became common in Europe the first place. See also high speed rail.

What's the point of continuing to fight the drug war? No victory will ever be possible and as long as it goes on it enriches criminal organizations with power rivaling states, as well as providing grounds to shred the Constitution in myriad ways. The only problems from ending drug enforcement have come from increasing tolerance of public drug use and intoxication. This problem has been solved for generations with open container laws, but liberal jurisdictions have been allowing all kinds of drug use in public because it's "compassionate." End that, deal harshly with any public users, DWI etc. and there's no problem from drugs.

In a way Lidnsay reminds me a lot of ShortFatOtaku a few years ago: He knows very well how the leftists and communists work, how dangerous they are, how devious their schemes can be, but has a extreme bias towards ALWAYS assuming the worst of anything right wing and acting like we are still in the early 2000's and Bush Evangelicals will take control on the drop of a hat.

You probably put more thought into this than California did. They don't understand complex relations between rules and conditions. They think that just because a law was passed making Weed Cafes legal they will magically get Amsterdam style weed shops.

Well, we’d have to actually fight the War on Drugs first to know if it’s a bad idea or not. If we treated cartel members like how Israel treats Hamas and Hezbollah, we’d have no drug problem. They won’t be able to grow marijuana or coca after their fields have been fertilized with Agent Orange and no one will want to sell drugs when doing so means a drone strike will be heading your way. Inside the country, we know exactly who the dealers are; we just can’t arrest them because that would be “racist”.

Harsh crackdowns have been tried in the past, the Obama and Biden admins aren't the entirety of US history. Selling drugs is extremely profitable which allows the sellers to bribe police, judges, politicians and even banks that make billions off of laundering drug money. There are so many people with their hand in the trough there's no way you'll get the kind of across-the-board crackdown that could actually make a difference. Many wealthy and powerful people use drugs (Congress is the only federal employment sector without mandated testing) so they'll also stymie a strict ban. The genie's out of the bottle.

There are reports of trucks carrying goods that are getting their tires slashed.

I also have seen videos talking about Asheville's local government rejecting supplies. I'll find them and post them here.

I know that Roy Cooper (gov., NC) has told people to stay away. I imagine that includes anyone bringing donations, unless he's provided a drop-off spot where authorities and rescue teams can deliver them to the needy. He hasn't provided any links or information on how to help the people in NC who have been affected by Hurricane Helene except for this post:

This is what they do. They don't want volunteers or donated supplies for people who desperately need them. They want money and nothing else.
