The vast majority of this are lawyer fees.
So the actual laughing party in this is the lawyer of the plaintiff.

All Joe had to do was agree to cover the lawyer fees and I imagine this would have gone away.

This was in FEDERAL court. Joe just created a FEDERAL precedent by losing this case that incurred legal fees are already enough to sue a collection agent over.

If your lawyer is a youtuber, that means they have nothing better to do with their time. All youtube lawyers are partly non-practicing in terms of their working hours, because if they were practicing lawyers the whole time, they would not be working on youtube. The one thing the government has done well is pass the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. It prevents collection agencies from harassing you and if they violate it the debtor can sue the shit out of the debt collector for violating it.

It's always a good day when the scum that sticks to the bottom of your shoe violates the act. Lawyers salivate for when debt collectors violate it as it should be a walk in the park case, especially with any evidence.
