If you must eat fast food, and you really shouldn't, the best deals are Taco Bell. Wendys has gone to hell very rapidly the past six months or so.

They also use different filler than the other low-end franchises; I believe it is that Taco Bell uses oats and the others use something worse.

Foster Freeze is also rather respectable for their price range.

White women are more vocal, maybe I'm just blackpilling. Actually, the non-white women are warming up to him even in my area. Funny that.

The thing is Trump does better with women on election day than he polls. He actually won the suburban vote by 3 points in 2020 in a pro Democrat time but polls will always have him down double digits. So far even in the most left wing polls Trump has doubled his support with black women which kind of shocked me.

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — Vice President Kamala Harris hopes 20 minutes at the border wall can offset nearly four years of border chaos.

Ms. Harris made a highly anticipated visit to the border in Arizona on Friday, her second trip as vice president and her first in more than three years. She declared she has a get-tough approach to border jumpers while promising leniency to illegal immigrants in the U.S.


The Democratic Party’s presidential candidate said she would go further than President Biden in tightening the rules for those attempting to sneak into the U.S. by shutting down some asylum loopholes. She also promised more technology and manpower to sniff out fentanyl coming in vehicles through the legal border crossings.
“Our system must be orderly and secure, and that is my goal,” she said.

She delivered a vicious critique of former President Trump’s management of the border.


“He separated families, he ripped toddlers out of their mothers’ arms, put children in cages and tried to end protections for Dreamers,” she said.

Ms. Harris said Mr. Trump didn’t increase the number of Border Patrol agents or immigration judges, didn’t fix the asylum system and didn’t work with other governments to try to derail the flow of people.
“In the four years Donald Trump was president, he did nothing to fix our broken immigration system,” she said.

Mr. Trump proposed adding 5,000 Border Patrol agents and more deportation officers, but Congress never funded the request.

He also proposed new asylum restrictions, but immigrant rights activists sued to block those changes in the courts. Mr. Trump did sign agreements with other countries to head off bogus asylum claims, but the Biden administration soon ended those agreements.

On a press call arranged by the Trump campaign, Ms. Harris was blasted by the mothers of Americans who have died as a result of the influx of drugs over the border and those who have been killed by illegal immigrants.

Ms. Harris did not reprise her tough border rhetoric at the fundraisers. Instead, she focused on abortion rights and telling donors why they should fear a second Trump presidency.

“Donald Trump has a different plan and, in many ways, he is an unserious man. He’s an unserious man. However, the consequences of putting him back in the White House are extremely serious,” she said.

She is scheduled to close her West Coast swing on Monday in Nevada with an event for small businesses.
Her border trip highlighted the tricky balancing act she is attempting.

She wants to reclaim some ground with a public fed up with the border chaos, even as she tries to placate the left wing that has cheered the surge of migrants.

Her political history puts her far closer to those left-wingers. She has compared deportation officers to the Ku Klux Klan and Border Patrol agents to slave masters and has cheered on calls to decriminalize illegal immigration and curtail deportations.

That, however, is not what voters are looking for right now.

The good news for Democrats is that border numbers have improved since December, the worst month on record. That month, Border Patrol agents made nearly 250,000 apprehensions at the southern border. In August, the number was less than 60,000.

Unauthorized migrants are still streaming into the U.S. through the administration’s “parole” programs, which bypass the usual immigration system and allow people who have no legal right to enter. The Department of Homeland Security has carved out slots for more than 70,000 people per month to be paroled.

All told, Customs and Border Protection tallied nearly 159,000 encounters with unauthorized migrants in August. Based on trends, a majority were likely caught and released.
In late 2020, the last months of the Trump administration, illegal immigrant encounters at the border totaled about 90,000 a month. Officials at the time said few were caught and released.

More than 5 million illegal immigrants who arrived since 2021 have settled in the U.S., straining local resources and committing high-profile crimes.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed last week that a Venezuelan migrant paroled into the U.S. by the Biden administration in October 2022 has already tallied four arrests in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Yohandri Roger Mosquera-Rosas’ rap sheet included charges of malicious wounding, reckless endangerment of a child, two DUI and hit-and-run cases and multiple gun-related charges.

Fairfax County’s sheriff’s department, under its sanctuary policy, declined three detainer requests from ICE officers seeking to get Mosquera-Rosas off the streets.

Ms. Harris spent roughly 20 minutes on Friday along the border wall. The section she toured was built by the Obama administration to implement the Secure Fence Act, which was signed by President George W. Bush.
The U.S.-facing side of the wall is filled with razor wire — something the Biden administration has criticized when it was Texas stringing miles of it along that state’s border.

Ms. Harris renewed her promise to pursue a border bill written by senators earlier this year. The bill would have changed asylum claims and created a border expulsion authority similar to the Title 42 power instituted by Mr. Trump during the pandemic health emergency in 2020.

“Donald Trump tanked it,” Ms. Harris said. “He picked up the phone, called some friends in Congress and said, ‘Stop the bill.’”

In reality, the bill was dead well before Mr. Trump opposed it.

House Republicans had made clear it wouldn’t clear their chamber, and it couldn’t even clear a majority, much less overcome a filibuster in the Senate, after some Democrats joined Republicans in opposing it.

They do. They also serve bulk peanuts in the shell for free.

I agree- whether it’s on your (generous) helping of fries, or on the floor underfoot, the oil is a very prominent feature there. Oh well…everything in moderation.

Fast food hasn't been fast or cheap since even before covid. You are way way better off using uber eats at some local place than any big chain now. Hell, even Pizza hut can fill you for a whole day for about what a large combo anything at McDonalds or Wendys has now.

I’m old-fashioned. If it’s economically sensible (i.e. the restaurant isn’t too far away), I’ll just grab the takeout myself. I drive a fuel-efficient car, so I’d rather spend the time myself than the money on a delivery driver.

I can't understand the psychology of Uber Eats-type of customers. It's not like Dominos where they can complain to the boss if the delivery gets botched and the extra fees of using an independent contractor probably double the cost of the food itself. I also rolled snake eyes on my mom & pop pizzeria. Other than the novelty that it's square, it's not much better than Pizza Hut. At least it's better than Papa John's.

That's a huge lie. From my own experience local pizza is dogshit and Pizza Hut the only people who can make great pizza. Pretty much within a five town radius, all the mom and pop pizza joints are inedible and overpriced and only get business because they are the only pizza places in driving distance/deliver.

Maybe it depends on location. I have enough good mom-and-pop places around me that there’s no reason to go to Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut is really bland in comparison. Supporting small businesses and all that. However, the upcharge, time, and risk of contamination makes it so that unless you can’t get it yourself for whatever reason, you’re better off driving.

Fuck Taco Bell though. Asmongold and Caseoh endorsing it is a bona fide food health warning.

Not doubting you- I imagine it can be tough to find a good slice from an independent joint in much of the country. I encountered a few such places in FL and they sucked. Probably because the water is so much harder down there versus up north, which in turn affects the dough. I will agree that Pizza Hut is the least shitty out of the PH/Domino’s/Papa John’s trifecta, but that’s not much of a win. It’s just tasteless pizza, imo.
