And, as a Catholic woman, I can tell you right now that once women are able to become priests in the Catholic Church, we're cooked. We're so cooked.

Women have had an important role in the Catholic Church since forever, too. Let's all completely ignore the fact that nuns exist, I guess?
a woman becoming a priest would be a major theological defeat and modernism concessionism. the role of women go beyond the professions, most of the saints werent monastics but laypeople in the church fulfilling much needed hospitality and charity needs, just greeting and welcoming newcomers is an important but downplayed role for all churches. its takes people called to that role to keep a parish going.

I had to explain to my boss yesterday why we were having so many interpersonal issues with employees over the past 6 months and why we’ve had to handle 3 simultaneous HR issues.

Wanna take a guess at the gender of the people we hired in the past 6 months.

I think it’s better if you guys stay at home or just do something that you feel is important and not demeaning because I think collectively we’re kinda sick of this shit.

If anything, women have too much power in the Catholic Church. Many parishes have become repurposed as social clubs for boomer women.
True, but it's still better than a lot of other Christian denominations ... For now.

My late mother was Catholic and my father is Episcopalian. My dad was 100% fine with my siblings and I being raised Catholic, so yeah ... That's why I'm Catholic and why my Catholic husband and I are raising our children to be Catholic.

Anyway, my Dad has been "church shopping" for the past year or so, and he's been pretty mortified by the communities within the Episcopal church. One church he was going to was definitely run by a community of Boomer women. My dad stopped going when the church ladies planned for a church meetup at a local Pride parade back in June ... My dad asked them if they had planned anything of the sort for pro-life causes, and he peace'd out when they said no.

And this past weekend, he visited an Episcopal church with (a) no pastor (so the church picks random visiting priests every week), (b) had barely ANY attendees, and (c) has a "community" run by two married and very imposing gay men. When my dad visited this past weekend, they immediately targeted him and did everything they could to desperately "sell" the church to him (my dad was polite and didn't just bolt right then and there, but he has zero plans on going near that church again haha).

If you must eat fast food, and you really shouldn't, the best deals are Taco Bell. Wendys has gone to hell very rapidly the past six months or so.

They also use different filler than the other low-end franchises; I believe it is that Taco Bell uses oats and the others use something worse.
I remember a long time ago Taco Bell got in trouble for having too much filler in their meat so they couldn't legally call it meat/beef. The headline was pretty offputting so I looked up what was actually in it. By the time I was through reading what was in it I was thinking "Oh, that must be why it's so much better than when I make tacos at home" lol. None of the ingredients looked out of place at all, it was oats, beans, and seasonings, they just had to increase it to 51% beef from 40-something% or something like. I started adding a few dollops of refried beans to my taco meat after that and it definitely makes a positive difference. I use regular flour to thicken up the juices a bit but oat flour would work just as well I would imagine

I don't know if any of them ever did it but I remember hearing about a lot of fast food places were experimenting with powdered cellulose which is basically just powdered/floured wood. You can mix it into basically every part of the meal and up to a certain point it's really hard to detect and as an ingredient it only has to be marked as 'nonsoluble fiber'

That's a huge lie. From my own experience local pizza is dogshit and Pizza Hut the only people who can make great pizza. Pretty much within a five town radius, all the mom and pop pizza joints are inedible and overpriced and only get business because they are the only pizza places in driving distance/deliver.
I live in a pizza desert, thankfully shitty pizza is still pretty good (unless it's Papa John's). Unironically the best pizza I've ever had was a Sam's Choice frozen pizza, unfortunately I think Wal-Mart discontinued them and only have Great Value now. I can get by on that though, I drizzle a bit of Rao's marinara on it and then sprinkle some extra cheese to keep that from drying out. Rao's marinara will carry basically anything over the finish line lol

Look at what happened to Protestant denominations when they started ordaining women: most of them turned out to be hacks who overtly use their position for personal activist or political purposes. I'm no incel, but women in high positions within religious institutions has not worked out well.

Why would anyone be threatened by Iranian ballistic missiles? Did everyone forget that just 6 months ago Iran sent 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and 30 cruise missiles to Israel, only for 99% of them to be intercepted? They didn't even kill anyone, all they did was damage a base and critically injure a single Bedouin wandering around in the desert.

Israel's Iron Dome can't intercept ballistic missiles.

These insane 'polls' that have her beating Trump today are just paid ads too. But there are people out there that lap this shit up.

I think even Pope Francis, as pozzed as he is, has said it won't happen.

Churches becoming longhouses has always been a problem. I vividly remember as a kid my parents helping out a lot for the annual church festival for a feast of a certain saint, I think it was Maximillian since he was relatively new in terms of saints (done by John Paull II). But anyway my parents supplied the kegs of beer and getting some actual fresh fish, shrimp and crawfish they drove 2 hours to and from to get, all gratis. Only for it all to never be recognized by anyone who organized the festival. YET the committee full of do-nothing wives made sure to pat themselves on the back for the success of the festival and the priest being unwilling to keep them in check or establish himself in the hierarchy. I remember my parents just completely giving up on that church and instead focusing on helping animal shelters instead as a form of tithing.

(It actually wasn't a successful festival, because it was supposed to be for parishioners only, but they allowed everyone to come, leading to undesirables showing up and wanting to play for free without paying for tickets for the booths, making the parking situation absolute shit, as well as eating all the food that was supposed to be for the congregation)

I paid $7000 for my current truck in 2008. I'm looking for a slightly bigger one so I checked to see what it I should expect to get out of it if I sold it and it's somehow worth $7500 now
I bought my last truck for $6000 in 2019 and sold it for $25000 in 2021 to live debt free, fully expecting the market to cool off by 2024. Big mistake, I guess

Try adding fine corn meal. Adds a nice taste too!

The SO got a 2006 Chevy Silverado full cab dually no rust for $10.5K recently. He surely doesn't need that kind of power, but hey, Truck Big. Already totally worth it, as he told the neighbor the next time he thumps his music out front he's gonna wind 'er up and shatter his windows. I very much appreciate that aspect of the scenario.

That thing gets what, 8mpg? Good luck fueling it.
