I can not fully and honestly discuss my feelings about FEMA or the federal response to NC without being banned for fedposting and making Josh's life unnecessarily more dificult. So I wont, however FEMA and the red cross have a list of "preffered vendors" which are essentially companies that they pay for supplies and goods. These groups do not like it when an area is flooded with outside unconnected support because they only allow support and goods that come from their vendor list.
There are two main theories for this which rely almost entirely on how charitably you view these organizations. the first and more scoially acceptable reason is that its quality control and they have no way of knowing of the food or supplies from outside sources are any good or dangerous.
The more accusatory theory which I believe, is that it's about money. Fema overpays these vendors to give them goods and in return these companies give kickbacks to key decision makers. I fully believe this, unless you think they're turning down free equipment, medicine and fuel because something might be broken. The government and large corporations both view their citizens and customer base as cattle that can be milked for profit but there is no more profitable time in a cattle's life than at the slaughterhouse in which it ends.
Are most Twitter users retarded? yes. are some of them lying or sensationalizing about whats happening? oh definitely. are they ALL lying about the same thing? absolutely not, i'm pretty Sure Fema arent allowed to interrupt or fuck with churches and their charity or efforts but if that's true it's only because they would light on fire if they walked into one. This isnt even discussing a huge chunk of their funding being taken for illegals right before hurricane season.
