Jerma985 - Because fuck it, let’s get a Jerma thread going. Meow.

This is why you don't cater to these leftist/lgbt groups specifically--they're always eager to turn on you at the smallest thing. I'm all for withdrawing support from someone because they did illegal or deplorable stuff, but one of their genuine criticisms was "he only mentioned trans rights once". If there really were problems with him not paying an agreed-upon amount, then that sucks, but everything else just looks like them being oversensitive.

I'm not surprised, though. I saw a video where he ended a stream because some random in a lobby said the f slur. All the comments were (I presume teenagers) expressing how they were so grateful he ended it because that word was so harmful and ruined their whole day/gave them anxiety. I can't imagine having an entire audience composed of that. You'd have to monitor every word coming out of your mouth.

I fucking called it. I hope this sellout faggot gets eaten alive by his demented fanbase and that every chat janny hangs themselves afterwards.
Not on the Jerma discord (ew), but I doubt any fanbase would ever side with the mods over the streamer unless there's actual illegal shit going down.

Jerma gambling his mod's salary away does not count.

It remains to be seen whether this will actually go anywhere but Jerma's mods have finally had enough. Now that it is legal to criticize the man without being executed, many people are airing their grievances with Jerma.

...You can't have a fanbase of adoring teenage girls without consequences.
Finally, hope he reaps what he has sown.
Couldn't give less of a shit about the gambling accusations, but if he were to fall from grace it might give other Internet funnymen pause in putting all their eggs in the basket of people of gender.

Jerma is an average dude who is swarmed by alphabet troons as their "comfort streamer". The fuck was he meant to do? Not work with eager troon artists cause uh.. that'd also be transphobia. But also transphobia to not pay them. These UwU babies who rely on a fucking commission payslip to pay their bills? It's the same shit that went down with Vinny: Random white dude streams, gain popularity above their means, and suddenly it's all on them that they're not performing at the top in relation to these loony troons' newest agenda.

It's like how George Lucas just wanted to tell his funny space samurai stories only for fans to inflate the importance of it 50 magnitudes.

Brother, it's literally just a handful of tards with sour grapes talking shit behind his and the rest of his fanbase's backs because they're well aware nobody would take their side.

Some of you guys are making this out to be like Jerma got hit with 4 twitlongers with thousands of likes, 1 expose video and been forced off the internet.

In non-Tranny news: Otto is sick, Jerma's been in a funk and he's planning on going live soon-ish.

My bad. Sometimes you just get MATI and pray on someone's downfall a bit too much.

The "Thank Goodness You're Here!" stream might've been the worst stream of the decade. Dude did not understand anything happening in this game. At times he was simply being quiet for half a minute, only breaking the silence with gibberish. And during dialogue he was non-stop yapping nonsensical stuff. It felt like he was extremely high. Like watching someone with 2 viewers stream a game.

Jerma is clearly doesn't have the heart to stream anymore, it's no longer what motivates him and it isn't what he wants his career locked to. I already consider those days over, I think he's made it clear enough.

That has been everything jerma related post-Archeology stream (March 2021)

Sadly have to agree. I can't even tell you how many times I tried watching a newer stream only to find him pay basically zero attention to the game he plays (if he even plays a game) and just talk about random bullshit for the entire duration. Real shame since most of the best Jerma moments have been caused by various situations in games, which can't happen if you don't give a fuck. Can't fault him for deciding not to stream anymore if his heart isn't in it though, seems like the better option.

Jerma's streaming "energy" has just been miserable when you pull back and look at it with a wider lens.

Many of his original viewers lost interest or felt pushed out by new viewers. His health issues have made it harder for him to stream. Don't remember if this is a meme or 100% true and honest but he acts like he's either on heavy pain killers or edibles. All while his audience is more or less weird strangers obsessed with projecting their gender euphoria on him. (Remember the art of Jerma depicted as a feline-eared twink/femboy?)

Guy has hardly been coherent for the last several years and isn't mentally sharp enough to make his streams fun and interesting. Anytime he looks at the chat he's probably just seeing unfamiliar names and getting pestered by troons seeking validation and forcing unfunny memes.

This alleged mod salary issue is just funny. If you're going to get paid for doing something, get it in writing. Not that I think stream moderators deserve a single penny in most contexts. Because you know good and well they would have done it for free from the start. Ideally moderators would actually be hired in a professional sense, people that don't have personal stakes or involvement with the stream and its community. But most Internet janitors on sites like Twitch are volunteer and have ulterior motives. They just want to feel like they have power and a direct connection to the streamer. That's all it is. Then they get off when they can scold the chat for wrong-think and put on emote-only or slow mode, punishing the entire chat with thousands of people for the yammering of a literal handful they chose to hyper-focus on.

It's a damn shame because streamers like Jerma are a dying breed being pushed out by drama and IRL streamers who at best play whatever flavor of the month live service game comes out. I haven't really found anyone new that still plays the kind of games Jerma did. I do enjoy Vinny, but he's also been in the game for a long time and who knows how much longer he has.

>Cater to a hugely blossoming and diverse TF2 target audience
>Great career; household name
>Troons appear like parasites
>.....
>Career down the hole unless they start catering to troons in more than just "I accept them. Moving on-"
It's honestly nuts. Someone wrote on leddit "why do Pyrocynical have so many trans viewers?" and it's literally just cause of his emergence during TF2. It was a cesspool breeding ground of all kinds of people and ironically, furries came out the best of it all. Most of the friends I made back then haven't changed profile picture on steam since and just moved on to other shit. Meanwhile trooners and vinesauce stans made a discord brand out of their passions.

troons appeared long after he quit tf2 though, around 2019 or so is when it started getting bad.

I feel like this thread has gotten very negative (and I've contributed to that), so to try and balance it out a bit I'm posting one of my favorite Jerma moments (from one of my favorite games no less), feel free to do the same! I'm sure there's some great stream that's flown under my radar and I'm always looking for more shit to watch while working.

The FEAR stream (or at the very least a long edit) is definitely worth watching. To me, it's the perfect combination of Jerma not knowing how to play a game that has tons of potential for comedy, and the interaction with chat is from a sweet spot in time before it all kinda went to parasocial shit.
