The reporter asked him if that shirt was old, if he had simply said "no child, I just bought this a month ago" the interview would have never aired. If he instead answered "yes child, I am the biggesT Star Wars fan there ever was and I own vintage clothing to prove it" then he would be more likely to be included in the news segment, which was obviously going to be about Star Wars superfans.
