The Hoi4 modding thread is the same, where me and others talk about both the current Hoi4 mods and the controversies that make a lot of them crash and burn. I think it is better for the discussion about Touhou to remain in one thread, as a lot of the doujins are made by weirdos and discussing both what it is and the dirty laundry of those who made it is better than having one thread to discuss one thing and another to discuss the other
The gimmick for this one's interesting; it's like UFO or WaWC without the randomly changing UFOs or spirits moving in at angles. I like the effort the devs have put into animating the character portraits, but gaining combos from the item spirits are visually too much. Cut-ins look amazing (Miko's spellcard cut-ins in particular), and the design definitely feels more mature and gothic.

That's neat. Though, I wonder, if some of the kiwis would be creating their own Touhou related things, whether drawings or scripts for something like danmakufu, it surely isn't something that would go in this thread? TF2 does have a thread in community watch and games subforum, though it is a multiplayer game so it makes more sense there'd be a separate thread for it.
As for other replies that mention about creating another Touhou thread elsewhere, I was thinking whether that would be ok too, at least in a separate dedicated thread it should be ok to sperg about some fan games or animations that aren't made by questionable individuals.
I did look up what Touhou related threads existed around here, in case if anyone's curious.
The part where the creator said that canonically nobody in gensokyo is gay to own the yuri (I think that's the word for anime lesbianism, I'm not going to look it up) gooners was awfully funny though. That must have upset many of the more weird weirdos.
that came from the anime equivalent of the onion, you fell for a satirical article.
btw look up the people he hires to draw the official touhou mangas, most of them are into horrible stuff.
Sounds like typical artists. I generally expect any of those to be into some degenerate things, at least that way I get pleasantly surprised if they turn out to not be into anything of the sort.
I recall japanese also don't really care what people they hire draw, even if they are aware? iirc there was some game about furry children in a tank that did not have anything inherently degenerate about it (other than furries), and inbetween some of the story acts there were drawings by some of the guest artists... Well, I guess it is obvious what some of those artists were drawing on their own accounts (softcore furry porn). Learned about it from this post.
I am somewhat hesitant to start drawing on my own, like, do I have to sacrifice my sanity and turn into porn addicted faggot to be able to draw alright? Well, can't tell until I try!
I can't find now, that mentioned some sort of videohost for "loli" porn and etc called "pomf", which was using Chen as its mascot. I wish I didn't know that.
You're thinking of pomf.tv, a barely alive streaming site who's whole gimmick is being loli artist friendly. They're mostly known as a weird pet/side project for Iratu, owner of notorious pedophilia forum AllTheFallen, who likes Chen a bit too much.
Theoretically no, plus some might consider a lack of NSFW a plus. Now if you want to rake in the cash? Definitely need to become a coomer, the more degenerate the better (for your wallet, inverse applies to your mind.) Now for an extremely late (and thus highly gay) Xitter update:

Is it just me or does Blake sound like a school teacher with his reply?
Blake re-xeeted this literally who's formal letter of resignation from the "Touhou community".
TL;DR - Too much wrongthink caused him to no longer make "Touhou memes". And nothing of value was lost... Original | Archive
This guy bought Blake Quake: Original | Archive Original | Archive
I don't know whats worse here: that he bought Quake for his favorite Discord mod, or that he paid for a game thats piss easy to pirate.
Blake tried to assist someone in ratio'ing some random on Xitter:

I decided to check the account and, >discord: pancakes3987

While its not the same guy, I'll introduce you to another pancake (who I inititially thought was kingRey, but learned I was wrong via Xitter posts) who's also a Blake orbitor and a minor! Apologies for the borked imagess, I'm screenshotting my archives of the channels Blake hid. I don't know about my ability to share them, as they're ridiculously huge, plus Josh declined to host them due to neither him nor me knowing what exactly is in these logs.
This minor also played a game of Mario Party with a few people, including Blake: Again, why are there so many minors surrounding this 21 year old NEET?
Here's Blake's Facebook as a bonus, which gave me no new or interesting infomation sadly. Archive
i hope he plays it, great game. if it's the steam version then it should be the remaster, right? that at least comes with a few bonus goodies. ironwail's a great fucking source port that i'm pretty sure will autodetect most quake installation paths. if you click on the latest successful compilation action here, you can download latest ironwail for windows, the last release is a tad outdated.
i'm being optimistic though, this is the same guy who has barely even touched non-meme 2hu games, official or otherwise

Ah, neat. For money I'd rather work some usual job rather than waste my energy creating thing for someone other than myself, and especially not for whatever freaks consume the porn. Already saw firsthand couple of cases of porn addicts becoming trannies, no thanks!
Perhaps I've missed it, but how did Blake even get following this big? He doesn't seem to be an artist or a music composer. Did he just get so much people congregating around him due to posting funnies and Sakuya simping on Twitter? Oh, and the previous Miku obsessions.

I think he's the one who made "CBT with Yuuka Kazami" and the title was often reposted without context for the funnies. You see, in popular internet slang CBT means "Cock and Ball Torture" so it was funny to post the game without any context since someone might assume it was a game about "Cock and Ball Torture" and not "Cognitive Behavioural Therapy". That's probably where a lot of his popularity came from.

Recently, I was thinking about those DMCAs that the Moriya Shrine website and Spaztron ended up getting for the Windows and PC-98 pirated cracks respectively. I happened to find out that the latter typed up a whole blog page dedicated to talking about the legality of those discontinued first five games, with a general talk about Touhou at the end. The blog is an interesting piece on how ZUN built the series' foundation through stolen material and pointing out the hypocrisy of the man who doesn't want others to use his assets for unauthorized commerical sale but did so himself years ago. An archived version is already made available for those who want it.
I'll skip the beginning reflection to go straight into the good stuff. Spaz displays the attempt ZUN made to rebrand the graphics software provided by PromisenceSoft's sprite16.com as his own via hex editing, found in Dim Dream's exe when being compared to a clean copy of the engine.
There is also edits done to the master.lib x86 library that powers these five games based on the large memory model. What he did was write out the attributions of Akihiko Koizuka, the coder of the library, from the TH03-05's binaries. The highlighted portions is the version strings in question that got rewritten with the final image showing no reference to the coder. The order goes from HRtP, SoEW, to the last three.
There's also the thing about giving a special thanks to the creators of the libraries in the games' credits with no mention in the code but whatever the motives to do this might be, Spaz lets it be known that ZUN did these hackjob edits before selling these games for a profit originally. No other edits are known at this time.
The rest of the blogpost mainly goes over how Touhou is a corporate brand run on third parties, the vagueness and hypocrisy of the guidelines, the Steam versions of the games being inferior to the pirated cracks, and the general decline of the games' quality not being worth the $15 per piece. The spoiler showcases said guidelines as interpreted in the blog.
It seems like Spaz has been disillusioned with the whole series recently, knowing that the official material ended up degrading with its creator not giving a shit otherwise as the pirated abandonware collection was taken off of Github. I do wonder what else can be known about ZUN seeing as there is little to know about him.
I assume it would be very difficult given the language barrier. I am more curious about what the fuck he actually does all day. I would assume he won't have to work for the rest of his life because Fumos are just a money printer.
I just wish everytime I get into something new and exciting, the original creator of it doesn't turn out to be, at best, kinda a hypocrite and lazy and, at worst, a complete piece of shit.
