Nah Jim does hate the same bullshit in gaming that I do. Regardless of his reasons it's the same result. I mean Jim's entire career for the best part of a decade now has been anti overmonetisation. He might hate those things for different and hypocritical reasons, but he does hate them, that's his opinion on them. Him being a hypocrite in his reasoning doesn't really change that, if a paedophile said that fucking children was wrong I wouldn't suddenly disagree with them just because they're a hypocrite. I'll think less of them and not take them seriously because of them being hypocritical but I'm not going to instantly disagree with them because of it. We both hate gacha games, I hate them because they're shit games that only exist to milk money from you, Jim hates them because he can't gamble mindlessly, but at the end of the day we both hate them for the same base reason. Jim sterling might be a full blown consoooomer gambling on gacha and buying funkos and shit but the jimquisition is not and that's all that most people see. I will also just restate I don't agree with his reasoning, just the base that it's built on and that I respect him having an opinion and sticking to that same rough opinion for years more than I respect anyone who actually likes reddit humour regardless of that opinion, I think I respect most things more than that, I'd respect someone who literally eats shit more than a redditor. He'll stick to that same way of thinking and have roughly the same opinion and stick by it and I respect that more than being too scared to even have an opinion, at least in that sort of commentary space specifically.

You went from "Charlie poopy humor not funny" to "They have no opinion on it". Which is funny because Moist made a video just a few days ago criticizing the industry for being stagnant and over-monetized. Damn-near every commentator shares Jim's views on the games industry; it's the fucking safest opinion out there. The only time I can think Critikal hesitated to comment was on the trans stuff with Chris Tyson, and remind you Jim Sterling turned a blind eye when Sony DMCA'd everyone over TLOU II (A game he politically aligned with) or how he conveniently didn't care to cover Battlefield 5's non-stop retarded historical revisionism.
Whatever tiptoeing around sensitive topics the commentary sphere is guilty of, Jim is equally guilty of. Jim "sticking to it despite contradicting it in every way possible" shouldn't be respected, and I feel really bad for you if juvenile humor makes someone less respectable than Jim "The Gays Can Do Whatever They Want" Sterling.

He'll make it, but only because his inevitable mid life crisis meltdown is going to be absolutely biblical, a divine comedy unto itself, and there is no god cruel enough out there to steal that from us. He's gonna hit 41 years old with nothing of value to show for it - He's destroyed his identity and reputation in pursuit of a toxic ideology that's now been rejected up even to the major corporate levels, he's destroyed his brand and business through sheer irredeemable complacency in the face of a changing world, and he's built his social circle out of vapid, presentation fixated puritan fuckwads who only care for him out of what he represents and not who he is. Among those he would call his friends, the true self is a poison, a bitter hate to be avoided rather than a salve and release. The hobbies and communities he participates in humor him at best, laugh at him with a side glance and don't consider him a serious element worthy of any true regard. He'll move on from these circles and nobody will remember or miss him. At best they will hold some fond memory of the time before he became the toxic mess he was, an old wrinkled legacy in the back of the mind. He will sit in his bumfuck nowhere rental flat, watching others rise to the success he never managed to truly grasp, only brush close to. Around him will lay the cast off detritus of yesteryear, the childhood memories and addictions that only he cares about, but they won't bring him the joy or attention he wants.
And all of this is going to happen to a mentally fragile man who cannot handle criticism or failure. Jim's going to break hard, and its going to be incredibly funny to see. I'm not sure if he's gonna triple down on wanting to be some illusionary ideal of a sexual woman, traipse off to get arrested in Thailand for breaking ladyboys, or if he'll have a meltdown and try to kill someone he inevitably blames his fate on. The usual sports cars and young women are sorta off the table as he simply lacks the wealth and means to make that happen.

He used to be significantly thinner, like almost unimaginably so. I can't recall when that was exactly (almost certainly before ozempic became a thing) and whether it was after a period of absence, but he naturally attributed it to trooning out and getting gay married. I still stick to my claim of him undergoing a gastric bypass surgery, which is why he will never, ever show his bare gut to the public, because that type of surgery leaves very specific scars on the abdomen. This is him gaining it all back.

There's one area that MovieBob always has had an edge on Jim on.
MovieBob, for all his faults, genuinely loves video games. He's a complete cock now who screams about a need to genocide his political opponents based almost entirely on those who were mean to him in junior high school, and his ongoing psychological obduracy has heavily blunted how much he can actually show genuine care for that which he loves, but under the sturm, drang, and SJW idiocy is still the original Bob that as a child very much played Mario 3 and thought to himself "it doesn't get any cooler than this."
That Autism may be the basis for a lot of his problems, but it's also pure. It's a part of him that isn't based on hatred or malice, it's something that, if you stripped away everything that made Bob into the asshole he is now, he'd still have. It's the kind of genuine love that you can only see from an Autist who has something they care about that much - and ultimately, it's the core of the real bob.
Jim doesn't have that and never has. He doesn't even particularly like video games that much. They're a means to an end with him and always have been. You can tell because of how his coverage goes and how he will blunt himself - needlessly - to remain in the good graces of his usual circle of shitheads - like he did during the Alex Mauer saga. If you stripped everything that made Jim an asshole away, you.... Wouldn't really have anyone at all. Being a dick to people has always been part of who he is, and he lacks the emotional core someone like Bob had.
You can see this in a few other ways, namely how they come to their conclusions. Both are in too deep and down too bad, but Bob's positions are taken with genuine emotion behind them and he'll stick to them even if it costs him directly. Bob does not give the slightest fuck about optics unless forced to reflect. Jim meanwhile mostly only cares about optics - scoring points with his own side, banging the drum on the usual points, and holding up his end of a culture war. Bob is fun to watch fail because he's a delusional idiot whose delusions led him to a dark place; Jim is fun to watch fail because he's a delusional idiot who will only take a stand because the people he's around force him to.
