Mouse utopia is animal abuse disguised as an art piece on society (tm) disguised as a research experiment. The whole thing is contrived in dozens of ways to produce a disaster, which is exactly what the scientist/soothsayer/hustler in charge of the project wanted.
There was never any control or test cases. There was never a coherent enough idea of what would even need to be removed to make a control case. There was never a point where someone said “let’s change one factor at a time and see what happens slowly”, because if they’d done that people might not have gotten to the disaster quickly enough and the grift would be over. It was pure sensationalism.

Religion is why. For Muslims it's because their faith literally gives the men basic ownership of women and the right to beat anyone who questions that, and America finds it more convenient to just give them money to promise to stop it and keep buying oil than to do anything else about it. For Christians, having a family is like second in line after following Christ in terms of "winning." Even people who aren't Christians themselves have been benefitting from this in terms of birthrates because their parents or some other meemaw or peepaw type in their family was Christian and anti abortion, so even if their lives are fucked up they still have the kids and then qualify for additional support for themselves and the kids.
America never would have had a birthrate crisis if we had stayed faithful to Christ, and that our birth rates were higher in our peak Christian years is something even atheists should be able to recognize.

You're confusing cause with effect. Declining religiousity and birthrates have a common cause: a more urban lifestyle and better physical safety. These factors lead people towards lower time preferences and raise the cost of a lifestyle seen as suitable for raising children. In the wealthier and more urban parts of the Muslim world birthrates are plummeting just as in the West.
Islam isn't magically resistant to decadence, it's the exact opposite. As a totalizing, all-or-nothing belief system, it's not good at addressing the questions and concerns of people with a more modern lifestyle. In an environment where clerics can't enforce their gruesome death threats toward doubters many people end up dropping it entirely and see no other path to follow but Western liberalism.

I don't dare predict what's going to happen in November, but in the event of a Trump win; don't you think it would have been massively advantageous (in the long run) for Dems if they didn't "win" in 2020?
Trump would have had the post-COVID economy to clean up, and while he may (or may not) have been better than Biden, a slower economy would still have reflected poorly. After 8 years of repetitive MAGA chants, manufactured controversies from the press, and stonewalls from Dems, how much would he have accomplished?
Any wars started in the last 4 years either don't happen (which doesn't help Trump because you don't know he prevented it), or it happens anyway which further reflects poorly.
The court cases against him are either never brought, or if they do they have a different effect (instead of actually helping him in the current timeline).
The "redrawing of the lines" that happened over the last few years with Twitter, Facebook, RFK Jr., and others, either wouldn't have been as pronounced, or never happened at all.
MAGA would have been wrung dry and Trump would be "dead" (term limit).
On the other end, Dems would have had 4 years to clean house and find new talent. Biden and Kamala are never seen again. It would have been fresh face Dems vs a tired Mike Pence (lol). More importantly the Dems abortion scare mongering would have had teeth, as Roe v. Wade would have been abolished under a Republican admin (and not under an incompetent Dem admin). He's coddled the left and Hollywood so hard in the last few years that anything from the classic days of the show has been swept away and forgotten about. During covid he seethed in his basement everyday for 3 years and he basically wanted anti-vaxxers to die or be denied medical care.
