Ubisoft Sellout - Bankruptcy Speedrun Any% Thread

They also made a Chinese psychopath white
I mean, isn't that par for the course? Race swap white heroes into other races, and white swap non-white villains into whites.

removed a Vietnam vet's reference to communism
Capcom is all-in on social Marxism, so I'm not surprised. They have a history of removing certain flags (Taiwan's, I think) in ports of games like Street Fighter 2 to appease chinks btw, so they might just want to be able to sell their games there. Disney often does similar shit to appease them.

Things aren't going to get better under Chinese, you will see the same censorship in the same places.
Frankly, I don't mind sexual censorship, and I'm coming around to censorship of excessive violence too. I just don't want woke censorship, like Body Type A/B instead of male/female, and just general woke nonsense like making every character a nigger.

right wingers who think they and Russia are "based" for whatever reason.
Some shit they do is based, like banning LGBT propaganda, pretty good fucking reason, but of course they're far from perfect either.

All of this not to mention that Chinks don't really have much experience in the gaming landscape
Yeah, and I'm also not sure they'll never bend to knee to ESG either, everybody thought Japan was immune too, yet here we are. But for now, they're a welcome force in the market, same for Korea.

... You know what? Between globohomo and no ghost, no niggers and bigger tits, I think I can live without the ghosts.
As much as I wish that were the case, the Chinese aren't going to buy Ubisoft to recreate the 90's-00's era of gaming, they will buy them to continue make sandboxes for normies and the occasional "artistic game" which consists mainly of walking. Ubisoft value is brand recognition and patents, anyone good has already left and you can bet the boardrooms filled with female middle managers will remain under the Chinese.

You tell me that the games aren't made for me, then act all surprised when your awful, awful bullshit fails, and you STILL want to blame me for it failing? Nah. Miss me with THAT bullshit. But I thought they weren't made for me? You want me to buy it now after you've directly insulted me as a potential customer for your product? LOL. Good luck.

Are you trying to say that libel isn't the most effective marketing strategy?

Also Tencent is among the kings of monetization so I would expect things to get both paradoxically better (fewer clearly woke elements) and worse (more predatory monetization, pandering, and cellular spin-offs).

You will enjoy the Ass Creed gatchas with 2d anime boobs and pay for them, gamers.

Apparently Tencent was the one pushing Ubisoft to include Yasuke. The video implies Tencent has been intentionally sabotaging Ubi for a takeover.

I do believe that Tencent played a role in some decisions, such as the random Chinese instrument in Shadows. The video wants to suggest more that ubi is not to blame for the decisions it made
Even if that is true, it shows that Ubisoft are that fucking stupid and out of touch, which just makes me hate them even more.
They need to stop existing as an independent entity and be eaten alive by some other studio, even if it is Tencent. This is the only thing they deserve.
Die, Ubisoft! I can only hope that Chinks will humiliate you even more after your death and turn your IPs into a joke!

This is the same faggot that also claimed that woke activists forced Yasuke in after George Floyd and BLM. Dumbass needs to keep his grift straight.
China has been pushing the Woke Ideology to destabilise the West for a while now. Come on, that is common knowledge. Not even QAnon. Either the activists suggested the woke stuff and Tencent supported them or it was the other way around. No matter the case, these two things are not mutually exclusive.

The activists are the useful idiots.
China wants to destabilize the west and destroy the cultures. Once Tencent is done with Ubisoft, they will get rid of it. China did the same with Google (which helped them build their Great Firewall and all the surveillance), Valve/Steam and Blizzard (both companies got banned from China once the chinese got their hands on their tech and data).

Yeah, the bribes definitely stopped coming thru
I hope their death is long, painful, humiliating and will end with their most valuable IPs in someone else's possession. Fallout was sold at a bargain bin price of less than 6 million dollars when Interplay was going out of business, how much is Rayman worth to them? That money will look real appealing when their losses and debts start piling up, not to mention money needed for lawsuits.

Yeah and it ended up in the hands of Todd Howard which I would describe as the worst possible fate for an IP I love but then Randy Pitchford bought Homeworld. Point being I don't really see anybody in modern day games industry being suited and/or willing to put in the work and care with any given franchise, it's just gonna be twisted and milked for cash until you no longer recognize it. Let dead properties lie, it is for the best.

Meh, we got Fallout New Vegas out of that. Of course, that's kind of a moot point since we would have seen Van Buren come to fruition if the IP wasn't sold

I gave Rayman as an example since no company can do any worse to him than what Ubisoft did. Remember, last official 3D platforming title released in whopping 2003, the fourth game was cancelled and then turned into a mini-game compilation with Rayman as a prisoner that entertained the rabbids(which became proto-minions for a time). Very fitting fate, considering what Ubisoft thought of the franchise, the only burst of non-rabbid activity we've seen since then were those two 2D platforming titles that are a decade old now.
Give the IP to literally any other company that has capable platforming specialists, at least we might see an HD remaster of Rayman 2/3 out of it.
