I don't know what people's lives and financial backgrounds are like here, but suffice it to say, if you're working poor, or disabled, I absolutely do believe it's Ok for you to own a gaming console if gaming is your hobby and you were wise with your money and squirreled a little away to get yourself a treat.

But HOLY FUCK, I cannot believe a grown ass man would buy decorations for his gaming rig, while mooching off a mutual friend while also looking at homelessness in 2-3 months. How is he able to keep the rent paying members of that house awake while he's tard raging in a COD lobby on a Tuesday night, and his fat wife stinks up the joint complaining about her "boundaries?" This would be immature and short sighted behaviour for some 17 year old kid, never mind a grown man on the wrong side of 40.

A console is not economical when you're homeless.

If you're poor but have stable housing, an old console that doesn't require an internet connection is perfectly fine. You can trade game discs with other poorfags or relatives and have a little economy/social circle based around vintage games. If you don't have stable housing, consoles are a bad investment. You need a television, associated hardware, and a broadband connection for newer consoles, as well as service fees and subscription fees. That's a lot of kit to drag around with you from squat to squat, not to mention extra money to find every month.

Laptops or a tablet- those are an acceptable investment. They're both entertainment and a practical tool. You can play free games or videos, recharge them at the public library, use them to hook into community resources, do your basic life admin, and most important of all, you can use them to generate income or search for sources of income. If Joh were taking the opportunity to work on upgrading his laptop, I'd see that as fairly reasonable. A console? Especially a console that's pretty much an expensive brick without an internet connection? Absolutely not.

We’ve actually been thinking about getting rid of our TV and PS3 because we barely use them anymore. Laptop fills 99% of our watching needs (and most gaming ones). The only good thing with the PS3 (on my end) is that we can watch DVDs or Blu Ray on it, but same deal. It’s nice to have, but laptops have come a long way.

Which makes rediscovering Pissa’s meltdowns over how cruel it was not having a TV all the funnier to me. Or Joh getting a TV, DVD player, and Beetlejuice cartoon sets right after he gave up on fixing the plumbing. From what I can tell, he bought that PS5 after leaving La Casa. Seems like he was more than happy to squat indefinitely until the others put their foot down. I hope Izaak and the roommate get to keep it after the Campbells get sent to Mamaw’s barn.

Monday morning I went to feed my cats and I couldn't find Wednsday. I kept calling for her and looking. I don't know how I managed to find her. I swore I saw her walking in this tall grassy area. It's there I found her unable to stand, attacked by an animal. I rushed her to the local vet hospital. The damage was to severe. I had her put to sleep shortly after we arrived. She had zero chance of recovery. Thank You North Alabama Animal Hospital for being so kind to Wednesday and me. My heart is broken. Wednesday was the best cat in the world and so smart. She was my baby, born on top of me while I slept on Feb 9, 2018. She was always in my lap. And now she will always stay in my heart.

I'm counting Wednesday as the third abandonment casualty, after Shadow and Fester.
