I was watching a video by this guy called Sweguin, and the topic of the video will probably make you irk, but it was another Iceberg video about YouTube, which I don't mind because sometimes the people who make and explain those icebergs manage to dig out very niche topics to then go in details in maybe another video, such as random trivia, and in the case of Youtube, History of the website, generally.

But he seriously can't shut the fuck up about his left-leaning standings, can't he? The two entries, Anthony Fantano Alt-Right drama and JonTron's Alt-right drama were seriously annoying to listen to. Just read how things went down, don't fucking comment about it. You're supposed to just explain, not convince me that I should vote blue. He's also taking literal years to read explain this, and most of the information on the earlier tiers was completely wrong. Although I did have yet another confirmation that he is an unreliable maggot when during the entry "Leave Brittany alone" he kept referring to the gay man on the video aforementioned video, as a female.

I thought the sanctioned suicide video was a poor and misguided attempt at bringing awareness to something he believed in (or something he could grift depending on how you look at it) without consideration for nuance but I also thought it was a one-off thing.

Idk, this is just a preference but I subbed for music shit. Not social awareness/critique etc. pieces.

It's currently sitting at ~66k views in 17 hours, it'd be lucky to breach 100k in a day. Being that it's a topic that's already been talked about to death, its not like it's likely to suddenly get a bunch of attention from being shared elsewhere. His channel is likely nearly dead in the water already, it's been nearly a fucking year since his last upload.

It's crazy just how much longer this video is in comparison.

He was one of the first YouTubers I saw go full politard sperg out of nowhere, and it was long before that was the "in" thing to do. I knew it was fucked when he wouldn't stop bitching about British politics in his videos, and as a non brit bong it was just nonsensical yapping about shit I didn't know nor care about. I sort of like his current content but no doubt it's definitely lazier, mostly him driving around and only getting out of the truck to go into some backalley porn theater to run a black light over the cum encrusted furniture therein. He did do a pretty cool one about Atlantic City not too long ago. Dan was being particularly obnoxious during his feud with Rick Serra but in all honesty, Rick seemed like a hard guy to get along with at times so I can see why Dan might be irritated with him. Yeah I've written multiple posts on NerdCubed in this thread, I first began noticing it in 2015 but I was willing to ride it out, assuming it would be a phase or at least wouldn't get worse. Well, it got much worse, and from what I heard he started dating some "non-binary" woman and thus probably osmosis'd her politics as weak men often do. When he went from gaming channel to making unironic rant videos about fucking Brexit and American elections [why the fuck do Britbongs even care it doesn't affect them at all?] I was pretty much done. The jannies of his subreddit are unsurprisingly much like him because from what I understand they locked it down because too many people were saying his current content was boring and they were tired of the four times a year "channel revamp/redesign/reboot" and didn't come to his channel for politics. For me personally NerdCubed/Dan Hardcastle was the first case of Trump Derangement Syndrome I witnessed, I wasn't even a big fan of Trump myself in those days but with NerdCubed even I was like "alright come the fuck on with this literally Hitler shit dude, come off it" and he just never did. A whole lot of other formerly great channels followed in his footsteps and made their content nothing but political bullshit which nobody wanted.

It was full of Orange Man Bad jokes which I think he thought were subtle but were about as subtle as a donkey punch. I kinda wish Yahtzee would retire, or at least retire the Zero Punctuation format. His new stuff just doesn't have the same punch as it used to, and the minute he stepped foot on American soil it infected his brain with the virus that is American political discourse. I can't tell if he's just running out of clever ways to say "AAA studio bad" or he just doesn't have it in him anymore to be as blunt as he used to be, he seems to put on the kid gloves for a lot of Indie titles too. I'm almost inclined to think he doesn't want to burn bridges out of self preservation because might rub shoulders with some of the devs living in LA, and he can't hide behind a longstanding gaming website anymore now that he owns the company he works for. I think he should get out before he hits the Jim Sterling wall of being in games journalism for so long, you start having contempt for games and gamers as a whole. It would be smart to build up the Second Wind brand on people that aren't Yahtzee so it can stand on it's own when he inevitably gets tired of carrying the entire organization.
