That is an insane amount of moisture being drawn into it. For comparison, this was Andrew at Category 5. You can see how he got the nickname "The Buzzsaw".

That said, Andrew was a really compact storm, and his path of devastation was more comparable to that of a Tornado that cut clear across Florida then whatever the fuck Milton is.

Milton actually looks like a Pacific Typhoon.

This was Typhoon Tip

Can someone explain what's the difference between a typhoon and a hurricane?
Typhoons form in the Pacific and Hurricanes form in the Atlantic. That's it basically, though Pacific Typhoons have a reputation for being absolute beasts simply because there is way more tropical waters for them to use then in the Atlantic.

That's what they get for using Apache instead of nginx or lighttpd. Then again they're probably only paying their IT guys $50k/yr so I should be grateful they're not still hosting it on some IBM Websphere garbage.

(Unfortunately I don't think there's enough laws protecting employees in these circumstances)
Technically no, but firing a service employee for not coming in the day after a Cat 5 hurricane rolls through isn't something any manager (who wants to live, anyway) would dare do, especially in the south in areas sustained largely by tourism dollars. Any store that allowed it and didn't (quickly) make it right wouldn't last long.

Mandatory evacuations in Tampa.

All persons in Tampa within the storm surge zones must evacuate.

Bridges to the barrier Islands are now CLOSED. 1 way access only for people leaving the Islands. Residents will be turned away at the bridges starting at 7 AM Tuesday. So if you are working late tonight and live on the Barrier Islands, I have some bad news friend. You need to go home, grab the wife, kids and dog, and then leave. Take only what you can carry and what is most important. It will all be gone soon.

Typhoons occur in the Northwest Pacific and can grow to into true Monsters in terms of size because they have a lot more tropical water to travel over before they hit land as an example if you were to put Typhoon Tip so it’s western end of it was right where California meets the Ocean it’s eastern end would be somewhere in the center of Kansas with the northern and southern ends reaching into Canada and Mexico. Typhoon Tip of course was The Monster of Typhoons but in general they get much bigger than hurricanes.

..... Gentlemen I will let you know how It goes. Not in a flood zone, but this has never gotten this bad before. All my neighbors are leaving
You should leave too. Unless you enjoy the idea of squatting in a disaster zone for a few weeks. How prepared are you? Do you have enough food and water to last you for 2 to 4 weeks?

*EDIT* Addendum. If you leave now, you can head on up to Charleston South Carolina, hunker down in Motel for a few days, then go to the local wal-mart, load up on food, water, beer, ammo and batteries, and then head back to your place. As a resident you won't necessarily be turned away if you can find an open road through. Then you can sit on your porch for the next 2 weeks all you want.

Progreso, Mexico looks like it's going to get hit.

Some traffic cams.
Those are not in Mexico. Notice how they say US-1. Since there are no public traffic cams in Mexico it is pulling up the closest ones in Key West. The site is labeling them incorrectly to farm clicks. I tried this in the morning and was not able to find anything in Progreso or Merida. Closest cams are the hotel cams in Cancun.
EDIT:
The best list I found was from this sketchy site https://wxyzwebcams.com/en/america/north_america/mexico/

You should get out man this thing is on the verge of breaking multiple records don’t add to its potential attempt to try and unseat Galveston there’s enough floridamen who are going to disregard all sense and try tough it out already we don’t need any more.

I got a couple of those food buckets that are supposed to have several months worth. I'm fine as far as food is concerned and Ive got high ground. I'll be fine. And I have no choice unless they shut down my job.

Leaving isn't an option. Just enjoy the isolated analysis from me.
