I don't dare predict what's going to happen in November, but in the event of a Trump win; don't you think it would have been massively advantageous (in the long run) for Dems if they didn't "win" in 2020?

Trump would have had the post-COVID economy to clean up, and while he may (or may not) have been better than Biden, a slower economy would still have reflected poorly. After 8 years of repetitive MAGA chants, manufactured controversies from the press, and stonewalls from Dems, how much would he have accomplished?
Any wars started in the last 4 years either don't happen (which doesn't help Trump because you don't know he prevented it), or it happens anyway which further reflects poorly.
The court cases against him are either never brought, or if they do they have a different effect (instead of actually helping him in the current timeline).
The "redrawing of the lines" that happened over the last few years with Twitter, Facebook, RFK Jr., and others, either wouldn't have been as pronounced, or never happened at all.
MAGA would have been wrung dry and Trump would be "dead" (term limit).

On the other end, Dems would have had 4 years to clean house and find new talent. Biden and Kamala are never seen again. It would have been fresh face Dems vs a tired Mike Pence (lol). More importantly the Dems abortion scare mongering would have had teeth, as Roe v. Wade would have been abolished under a Republican admin (and not under an incompetent Dem admin). They would have complete reign to implement their agenda as the Reps would have expended all their political capital.

And now 2024+ is shaping up to be more important than the previous 4 years, so THIS is the year to win, not 2020.

I don't think the Dems are ready for Trump to be out of the picture if they win. The media sees their job as ensuring Trump doesn't get reelected, what happens to that when Trump is gone? Maybe the media might actually start paying attention to what a colossal fuck up the Biden administration and now Kamala's is. Who is running it? Why is everything gone to shit? WW3?

Blinkin starting WW3 for Bibi while Biden is a puppet and Kamala just letting it. There'll be a break from the Dems doing that if Trump wins. Can they hold up the pretence with the media cooperation. With the Iraq war they could only hold that up until early in Bush's second term.

The Ukraine War is moving into a frozen conflict next year, regardless of who wins office. The fact they have kept it going for the US election is a massive scandal. Will that be recognised? If Trump wins they'll just say it was his doing. Even though it is well known to be happening regardless.
