The funniest part is what hill he is dying on in this fantasy.
The Bragg case is incredibly weak for so many reasons none of it being fraud.
The actual fraud case is looking like it is not going to stand up to appeal.
Smith is just making shit up and publishing it because he knows his case is essentially dead.
The Georgia case is probably dead since Fanni Willis is a fucking criminal who hired her boyfriend and likely embezzled funds then thumbed her nose at the process that exposed her.

None of the cases Trump faced had any real merit and to support the kind of lawfare that has been used against him is not only retarded but it is begging for the boot.

I don't dare predict what's going to happen in November, but in the event of a Trump win; don't you think it would have been massively advantageous (in the long run) for Dems if they didn't "win" in 2020?

Trump would have had the post-COVID economy to clean up, and while he may (or may not) have been better than Biden, a slower economy would still have reflected poorly. After 8 years of repetitive MAGA chants, manufactured controversies from the press, and stonewalls from Dems, how much would he have accomplished?
Any wars started in the last 4 years either don't happen (which doesn't help Trump because you don't know he prevented it), or it happens anyway which further reflects poorly.
The court cases against him are either never brought, or if they do they have a different effect (instead of actually helping him in the current timeline).
The "redrawing of the lines" that happened over the last few years with Twitter, Facebook, RFK Jr., and others, either wouldn't have been as pronounced, or never happened at all.
MAGA would have been wrung dry and Trump would be "dead" (term limit).

On the other end, Dems would have had 4 years to clean house and find new talent. Biden and Kamala are never seen again. It would have been fresh face Dems vs a tired Mike Pence (lol). More importantly the Dems abortion scare mongering would have had teeth, as Roe v. Wade would have been abolished under a Republican admin (and not under an incompetent Dem admin). They would have complete reign to implement their agenda as the Reps would have expended all their political capital.

And now 2024+ is shaping up to be more important than the previous 4 years, so THIS is the year to win, not 2020.

There's merit to what you say but keep in mind a counter point which is that all the time Trump was in power he was appointing new judges. And not just the high-profile Supreme Court seats. He seated dozens of judges during his term.

"Criminalise Widely, Enforce Selectively" is one of the key strategies of authoritarianism. And to do that you need control of the judiciary. Just look how many Soros-backed judges have been letting loose their favoured agents from countless BLM rioters to the "Bikelock professor" Eric Clanton who tried to kill someone at a protest, badly injuring them, and got a probation.

Trump's four years set back their control of the judiciary and another four years will do the same or more. There's also the arguable case that the Ukraine war might not have kicked off if Trump were in office though that's less certain.

Not disagreeing, just pointing out that not everything is about public perception. Judicial appointments are a big deal.

I get recommended snippets of senate judiciary committee hearings on nominees and some all of them have been involved in serious activism, then when pressed on their personal views on X,Y,Z they always answer with the boilerplate "I will issue my judgments and rulings impartially, without bias, in accordance with Supreme Court precedents blah blah blah" as per script. It's frankly quite infuriating to watch.
