The amount of church songs I have heard in Mass that I later found out used the same backend as a normal modern song is infuriating.
Borrowing common meters and melodies has always been standard practice for when setting hymn to song. You won't find one musical adaptation of Amazing Grace that can't be traced back to folk tunes.

Guys, I'm starting to think behaviors that are normal in a place of origin aren't suddenly scrubbed from the brain when landing on foreign soil en masse! Honk honk!

(Also have the source of the video, because the video download was fucky for me, it was a technical issue.)

he also wrote an essay for a libertarian think tank that criticized women's right to vote
I don't see how insulting nearly half the electorate, and the actual, numerical majority here in America, is a wise move politically.
Edit: Oh, he didn't write that. Peter Thiel did. I don't care about him.

Florida is in a pickle, isn't it?
If there’s one state I’d expect to be fine in the face of the apocalypse, it’d be Florida. Solely off of Florida Man shenanigans mind you, but from what I know as long as Waffle House stays open they’ll be fine. Shit on DeSantis for what he deserves, I’d trust him in charge of Hurricane Relief over FEMA, low as that bar is.

Though lul if Disney gets fucked up.

Why is DeSantis a better governor than he is a presidential candidate?

It's like a complete 180. As governor he's laser focused and sharp and as a presidential candidate he's flimsy and spastic as fuck.
Even before he ran, many Floridians thought it'd be a bad idea for him to run for POTUS. When you get down to it, he has a more positive impact on the country just running the state of Florida than he could ever have as POTUS.

Someone here said DeSantis had screwed up the state's insurance laws, specifically home and flood insurance. Is this true?

you fell for the media trap! which is exactly why i even know about some dumb essay written by some homo in a lolbertarian rag 15 years ago. when Vance was announced as Trump's VP pick the media was trying to tie him to Thiel and his hatred of women. i had somebody complain to me that JD Vance wrote an essay about how women shouldn't be able to vote, based on this article

journalists; all they do is lie; you don't hate them enough; etc

Nope, that's a nationwide issue. Main reason is inflation driving the cost of construction through the roof.

Does having a home insurance policy worth having in Florida if they're going to weasle their way out of paying for damage done to your property (and probably get away without covering none of the damages)?

Because 50% of said 60% are infected by cuckoldery and Communism.
I think that, after having communities fucked up by illegals and bank accounts raped by terrible economic and fiscal policy, a lot of white people are starting to vote practically as opposed to voting ideologically. It's not even people "waking up," it's a lot of people having their nice lives interrupted for no good reason. Yuppies and wealthy older types are happy to sign checks to their party and vote blue all the way down the ballot until they can't afford as many nice things and they can't go to their recreation center because it was turned into a shelter for ungrateful illegals who sit around all day smoking cigarettes and drinking beer.

The ultra-wealthy don't care because they have money to burn, but people who make the lower end of six figures still have bills to pay.

No, nationwide inflation issue along with insurance providers updating their risk assessments. CA, WA, IL and NY are in significantly worse shape because civil conditions are being taken into account as well. This talking point emerged when MAGA was looking for ways to attack DeSantis' record as governor. It was brain dead, but it was all they had.

Costs are going up and if you live in known fire hazard, wind hazard areas the companies dont even offer service in your area. Floood insurance requires you to be in a federally designated zone in order to entertain the thought of buying it.

Car insurance has been super fucked ever since soros prosecutors stopped ticketing and towing cars for lack uninsurance. Nonstop hit and runs.
