Hurricane Milton

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
I’ve never seen so many seriously upset meteorologists at once.

Shit, the tiny province of Nova Scotia up here in Leafland has a big convoy on the road already, to Florida, of staff and supplies for utility work and I’ve no doubt several other provinces are either on the road or soon to be.

I usually love ‘big weather’ but this one just sounds like a triple serving of shit ice cream,
It's only fair after you frostbacks turned Florida into your fall/winter refugee zone tbf
Canadian tags used to be one of the most common non-floridian license tags I'd see outside of the summer season when they were lost in a sea of Ohio.

Imagine if the first Hypercane in recorded history ends up being named Milton.

Yeah not even close a theoretical Hypercane would be 500+ mph and comparable in size to Typhoon Tip that crap is in the same realm of fantasy that Weather Control powerful enough to create and direct hurricanes is in.
Yeah I don't think it's possible without events that haven't happened in tens of thousands of years. Not even the SUSTAIN lab that was built to create to replicate hurricanes could replicate that shit.

Is there a deadpool on if Jack Doherty/other Florida cows die milking this baby for content? Do we get some looting live streams after the fact?
The McLaren crash didn't take the stupid fucker out, he's too stupid to die.
A hurricane is just good kahntent for him.

There is an interesting disagreement in the computer models as it relates to where Milton is predicted to make landfall; as of right now, the entire hurricane suite (HAFS-A, HAFS-B, HMON and HWRF) have Milton making landfall either in or north of the Tampa Bay. In contrast, nearly all of the global models (GFS, Euro, ICON, CMC etc.) have him make landfall just south of the Tampa Bay, around either Bradenton or Sarasota.

It actually is in this case since if it hits north of Tampa it will be worse off for them regarding surge while if it hits south of them it will be better still fucked of course but being slightly less underwater means less people drowning in Tampa.

Just wanted to say I hope everyone stays safe and alive through this. As an outsider to crazy weather, this seems like a horrifying nightmare to me. Also thanks to all the Kiwis who keep up with the news and info on hurricanes, I've learned a lot in this thread.
I also wish to be of any help if possible, but I don't know if someone in another country can donate money at all to anywhere that's hit/going to be hit, as I don't really know of charities etc that deal with this stuff (and that aren't just set up to steal money in situations like this).

If the situation gets bad enough, some kiwi may be able to convince Josh to set up a charity on here, and he's always very careful when doing such things, as he makes sure that the charities he's sending money to are crystal clear with their aims and who the people who manage them are. Hopefully things don't turn out that badly
