If you told me there was a government program headed by Kamala Harris, I'd reject whatever it is too. No matter how badly you need what the feds are offering, Harris' involvement is a guarantee for disaster.

Reminds me of another Vice President, actually. In office about 10 years ago, famous for botching everything from pandemic vaccines to Ukraine, can't remember his name... and I can't remember his name either.

A family member of mine has worked as a teacher for decades, and she's been having absolute hell trying to do her job over the influx of migrants.
In the worst example I've heard so far, one kid is an anchor baby that cannot speak a word of English. So what do you think the school does? Budget special classes for kids like that to learn English? Hire a translator to attend the kid? Send the kid to an extra-curricular language learning center?
No, instead they took the bilingual honor roll kid and forced her to stand around translating for the illegal kid who gets straight F's, never being allowed to study on her own anymore. The honor roll kid's grades plummeted, and the illegal still only gets F's.
The honor roll kid had a break down about not wanting to do it anymore, so the school sent in the principal to threaten the kid with expulsion if she stopped translating. I wouldn't be surprised if that's forced labor to some degree, but suing the state in a state court is a losing battle.
But I suppose the illegal's family will get at least 3 pulls of the D lever, so it's worth any sacrifice.

As an anecdotal sidenote, guess which migrant kids actually integrate fine, learn English, and score good grades?
The caucasian Ukranian kids, of course.

In some states, they are flat out removing any requirement to pass tests to graduate because the illegal children are not being taught English and are not even literate in Spanish. It's a complete fucking mess.

I had a dream where I saw JD Vance at a grocery store in Los Angeles. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
